They were very professional and handled all the details with the city, along with carefully coordinating their work with the cement contractor that poured the pad and the new driveway. I also appreciated to constant communication throughout the process.

I never thought I would love a garage so much! Every part of the planning and building of our garage by the Great Garage Company was done with precision and everything was done to our specifications and at the exact time and day they said they were going to do it. Every crew they had was very good, and even explained to me what they were doing and other details while they were working. Even the city inspector told me how precise the Great Garage Company is in doing their work. We have had our garage for 6 months now and my favorite thing is hitting the button to open up the garage and walking out there into our brand new structure. It was truly a pleasure working with the Great Garage company, they answered every question we had and even came back and leveled out the dirt around the garage and put patio stones down that had been removed. A plus 100% job all the way!

Excellent! John and The Great Garage Company listened to my requests and completed drawings and specs to match my requirements. They worked thru the city to get approvals. The subcontractors they use are all very good and the demolition and construction went very well. Concrete installation and finishing was wonderful. Products they used, such as siding, garage door and garage door opener were very good quality. I am very happy with the finished product.

This year was time for our 100 year old garage to be replaced. I called 7 companies. Only 4 bothered to show for an estimate and one of them never sent a quote. I opted for the Great Garage Company. I am so glad I did! They were 100% professional and kept us informed during the entire process. 2 guys with minimal equipment dismantled and hauled away our old 2 car garage in under four hours with no mess at all! Then came the concrete. There was an issue with the grade so we had to work out the best way to pour the concrete pad. Again, John worked with us based on the grade change. While we were on vacation, they came and built the new garage. I cannot say enough good things about John, Amy and the staff at Great Garage Company! They did a great job, and we love our new garage!

I chose The Great Garage Company because of their very impressive customer service reputation. Unfortunately, my experience was far from what I expected based on the reviews I had read. On August 15, 2018 Jon Keeney came to my home and I signed my contract with The Great Garage Company. He informed me that they were backed up and it would be a little while before they could start the project. Little did I know on that day how long I would have to wait to finally have my new garage completed. On October 6th the demolition crew finally arrived to tear down my old garage. I thought to myself, great my garage should be done by the end of the month (as Jon had told me it was a 2-3 week project). Well, nobody showed up again until October 25th. On that day the cement was completed. It wasn't until November 7th that the garage was actually built. That's right, it took 4 weeks for them to even get it built and I still needed siding,electricity and a door! On the day of the build I realized Jon had never given me my permit, so I texted him to let him know. He said he would give it to me when he came by that night for payment of the build. I found it odd that I would have to ask for such an important document, but he did not seem concerned.( I later came to the conclusion that the only thing he was concerned about was getting paid) That night I complained that his workers were throwing their cigarette butts in my yard. I was told that they are guys and they are just going to do it , he has told them about it before but they don't listen. That response is inexcusable!!!! If your workers can't respect people's property get new workers. The siding on my garage was put on on November 11th and the door on November 14th. The electrical was started on November 14th and completed on the 19th. It took 6 weeks to complete a simple 2 car garage. I had complained to Jon multiple times about how long the project was taking. He admitted to me that he tore my old garage down too soon and that they "panicked. " I find there to be no excuse for this as The Great Garage Company has been around long enough to know how to schedule their projects. Jon told me he was sorry but his apologies didn't seem genuine. There appeared to be no real concern on his part that I was without a garage for 6 weeks. I'm not sure how they got their reputation but I will not be recommending them to anyone. They should drop the word Great from their name as they, simply put, are not.

Of the three quotes we got Great Garage was the highest, but we went with them because we felt more confident that they would deliver a higher quality product than the others. Good decision. The price we paid was exactly what was quoted. Demo and construction were delayed a bit because of the unusually wet summer, but they were always here when they said they would be. The different crews (demo, concrete, carpenters, roofing, electrical, siding) were punctual, and performed quality work and kept a clean work area. Great Garage’s project manager, Jon Keeney, kept the project moving along and communicated well with us throughout. He was a joy to work with, and was only a phone call away when we had questions. We highly recommend Great Garage Company - and Jon if you can get him!

John D'Amico was very professional, and offered a number of options. He, his workers and all of his subcontractors (demo guys, roofers, electricians) were punctual, polite and competent.

It went very good. Took a little bit longer than I anticipated, but everything went great. They did a good job. They were professional and they cleaned up after themselves.

Great service and advice. Talked me through the codes and how to get the most garage for my money. I ended up buying a different property and not needing they services at this time but will do business with them in the future.

Great Garage is a real specialty operation, and they totally know how to build garages. VERY responsive and efficient. Came and finished as promised. Cannot imagine a better builder.

I had gotten several estimates from different providers and Great Garage was competitive in price.  The other quotes also didn't include the automatic doors or the vinyl siding.  
Some of the plots in Berea are somewhat smaller than in other places, and many of the homes were built with only small, one-car garages.  Tom D'Amico was great.  He walked us through the process, figured how with a two-foot variance we could fit in a two-car garage and arranged the variance meeting with the city and attended it with us.  He was able to keep me informed through texts about where in the process we were, i.e. permits, drawings, etc.  He even set us up financing  with the county's low-interest HELP loans http://blog.cleveland.com/metro/2009/08/cuyahoga_countys_subsidized_ho.html
Once the work started it went quickly.  A team removed our old garage one day.  The next day another team came out and removed the old concrete.  A few days of damp weather delayed the new concrete pour, but in a few days they came back and poured the concrete.  We had to wait for that to set before anything else happened.  But as soon as it set enough, another team hand-carried the materials and laid them out (the concrete hadn't set quite enough yet to bear the weight of vehicles).  The garage went up quickly.  Within a few days the siding and the door were added.
The only glitch was that the electrician had a family emergency, so he came in to hook up the electricity after the electric door had been installed.  When he came a few days later (which was fine with us) we found the electric door was not operating properly. Because there was no electricity available when the door was installed, the workers had no way to check their work.  I texted Tom about this and he responded immediately.  After coming to reprogram the doors himself, it turned out we still had problems to a day later he sent another team to replace the main part of the unit.  Everything works beautifully now  I would say that even this minor problem says a lot of good for the company.  They responded quickly and made good.

From the beginning to end I cannot say enough about the great service and professionalism and the quality. The package I received thoroughly explaining the process, the quote was detailed and work and quality choices explained is simple terms, etc. Tom was always prompt, friendly and very helpful. I painted the garage myself and had an opportunity to really see the work close up and I found the quality of workmanship of the building was amazing (all the joints lined up perfectly). In my experience in remodeling when selecting a contractor the and quot;mid priceand quot; person seems to be the best (that is what the Great Garage price was). But more important is the professionalism and follow through that makes the experiences seamless.

Called The company and asked to speak to a salesman. The woman who answered the phone was not too informative and said she'd have the owner call me so I could explain what I was looking for. The owner(I assume) did call me back the next day and I had told him the situation. I needed a small one car garage torn down and I wanted a 24x24 garage put up in its place. We talked for 20 minutes over the phone and he seemed very interested in the work. He even said, and quot;We can do all of the job or just part of the job. We work closely with the home owner.and quot; GREAT! I couldn't wait to get the quote in my e-mail. Well, a week went by and I hadn't heard anything so I called back today. Whoever answered the phone was very harsh and I could tell he didn't want anything to do with me, a woman. That's my take on it. He asked for the address of the house and when he asked for the zip code I told him I wasn't sure. That's where it got UGLY!!!! He laid in on me that he ONLY deals with the homeowner. Well, for some reason or another, I'm in charge of the ENTIRE project. I have the checkbook to pay for this project. I have the say on what type of garage it will be, the material being used, and how thick I want the plywood on the garage to be. I'm the one with the money and I'm the one paying for the job so then WHY do you need to deal directly with the home owner just to set up what needs to be done and a quote?!?!? He doesn't know what stick-built means. He doesn't understand solid bridging or 6/12 pitch. Once I have the quote, then I will sit down with him, discuss his options and then he picks a company and THEN you can deal with the owner. However, in this situation, I will take my business elsewhere since I was told very rudely, and quot;I won't do any business with you. You are not the home owner.and quot; I won't assume it's because you guys like to take advantage of folks who are clueless. I have met those contractors, very ruthless. Your company might want to understand the world isn't black and white. Sometimes people are not able to take the time to make the calls and talk directly to people whether they have a medical condition, they work and are out of town for a few months, etc. Try to be nice next time a woman calls your company asking for your services. I had heard you guys do a good job. We'll never know, will we.

On time and professional. Was able to talk through various options including pros/cons. Spent a lot of time with us and gave us an excellently prepared quote. In the end, we decided not to do the expansion for various reasons not related to our experience with them.

  Met with John D'Amico initially who explained in detail our options and the company's method of performing the job. Once my wife and I selected a design and approved the work to be done we sign a contract and received a final price. John returned several days later with a bound prospectus (very impressive). This detailed the steps to be taken in completing the job. I must say that they adhered to each step throughout the process. We were never left guessing what was next. John was always available whenever we had a question. The final product was beautiful. I must say this was the best construction experience I have ever had. We have enjoyed our new garage and driveway for several months now without a problem. Even the cement driveway came through this tough winter without any problems. We couldn't be any happier. Thank you John and your crew!!!

This review is late, as I thought I had already done it. But nine months later, I am still enjoying the benefits of this company's work.
Everything went quite well except for one or two minor communication lapses which were quickly corrected. We felt that the job was well-designed and professionally executed. We are very happy with it; our neighbors have commented on how nice it all looks. Designing and thinking everything through is the strength of this operation. Give Tom D'Amico credit for that. Friends have had similar work done that was unsuccessful because it was not thought out ahead of time.

Tom from the Great Garage company was amazing. He was very upfront and honest about all the work. He was also excellent on communication, which I especially appreciated since I am a woman and my husband basically let me handle this project. When I first contacted Tom at the GGC, he helped me secure financing because he has contacts at quite a few different banks. Tom also handled all the permits and inspections with the city. They were very flexible working within our schedule (we needed to get a variance with the city, which pushed construction back about a month. Also, we made arrangements for the GGC to tear down the existing structure and wait a couple of days to start the concrete work so we could get a tree company to bring in a lift and remove a tree). All the gentlemen who came to our property were very nice and kept our property as neat as they possibly could. We did have one issue: we discovered we did not have an exterior electrical outlet on the patio section of our garage (new!), and when we contacted Tom, he checked the contract, realized the mistake, and sent the electrician out the next day. Also, our garage was supposed to be 22'x24' with an 8'x24' patio, and the concrete people accidentally poured a 24'x24' with the 8'x24' patio, and the GGC ate the cost, so we got the additional 2' on our garage for free! All together, from start to finish, we had a new garage in a month, and that included the couple of weeks we had to wait for the variance from the city. We are VERY please with our beautiful garage and were more than happy to show our garage off when Tom called us a year later, asking if a potential client could come have a look.
