"Put in a request for quotes and tyler was able to come same day for a mattress and box spring removal. He also assembled a new box spring and set up my mom's new bed for her as well, which was above and beyond what a junk removal service normally does. Very kind and professional would definitely recommend."

"The two gentlemen, Dan and Jeff (if I remember correctly) were awesome. Very hardworking, done in a timely matter and cleaned up any small debris left. If they were not sure about something to remove, they asked. Highly recommend!!"

"I can not say enough good things about Darrell and his crew. The first job was a whole house junk removal. They were thorough efficient. Anything they found that might be sentimental or of value they would ask before tossing it. The 2nd job was a garage tear down basement drywall removal. They did an amazing job and cleaned up things that were not their responsibility like old flooring yard bags that I should have taken care of. They are a great group of guys, I highly recommend this company."

"Tidal Wave Junk Removal was absolutely fantastic to work with! From start to finish, the whole process was incredibly easy — they handled everything with professionalism and kept me informed every step of the way. They showed up right on time, got the job done quickly, and their pricing was very fair compared to others I looked into. I really appreciated how smooth and stress-free they made the entire experience. Highly recommend Tidal Wave Junk Removal for anyone looking for fast, friendly, and reliable service!"

"Feek Man Moving and Hauling LLC removed 3 large refrigerators and misc. junk from our 5th floor units. They were very responsive while quoting the job and scheduling the services. They were punctual, professional, and completed the job in a timely/organized manner. The cleaned up after themselves and were overall great to work with! I will hire them for future jobs and would highly recommend them for any moving/hauling projects!"

Leaf Removal questions, answered by experts

Unfortunately, lead dust does not look different from any other type of dust. You cannot detect it with the naked eye. To determine if you have lead dust in your home, you will need to hire a local company to take a sample from the paint and test it for you in a lab.

The best disposal method for hazardous waste is recycling or donation, if possible. That way, the world can reduce its consumption of raw materials and the volume at which materials have to be treated and disposed of. If recycling or donation is not an option, most waste can be disposed of through landfills or incinerators, but their collection and treatment are separate from regular day-to-day waste disposal.

According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), hazardous waste is generally classified into four main categories:

1. Characteristic Wastes: These exhibit at least one of four hazardous traits: ignitability (flammable, like gasoline), corrosivity (can rust or decompose materials, like car batteries), reactivity (unstable and can explode, like aerosol cans), or toxicity (harmful when ingested, like lead-based paint).

2. Listed Wastes: These are specific wastes from manufacturing and industrial processes that the EPA has officially designated as hazardous. They include byproducts from processes that use solvents, pesticides, and other chemicals.

3. Universal Wastes: These are commonly generated hazardous items that are subject to streamlined regulations. Examples include batteries, pesticides, mercury-containing equipment (e.g., bulbs), and some lamps.

4. Mixed Wastes: This category includes waste that contains both hazardous and radioactive components, making it subject to regulation by both the EPA and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.

If the lead paint is in a place that is not easily disturbed and is not flaking or deteriorating, you do not necessarily need to remove it. Lead is toxic when dust particles or flakes from peeling lead paint are ingested. If people are not in the area with the lead paint, it may be safe to leave it in place. You still may want to consider encapsulation with a paint formulated for covering lead-based paint, just for an added layer of protection.

Some companies offer hazardous waste removal, but additional fees and special handling procedures may be required.
