My second choice was to have the kitchen, foyer and bathroom tile cleaned. The time scheduled was incorrect - I had them on my calendar for 9:30 a.m. and they had me down for 1 p.m. Thankfully, I was able to rearrange my schedule to accommodate the error. I received a call around 1:15 saying the technician was on his way and would be late; he arrived around 1:30.
Tile floor was cleaned with a truck mounted system. The company needed to hook up to my water supply, which was ok for me but this was not indicated in the deal description, their website or in the conversation when the service was scheduled. They use a lot of chemicals and water, some of which sprayed onto my adjacent wood floors. The technician didn't mention I may want to protect the wood floors from the water. The company uses very large hoses to accomplish this work. My floors were still wet as the technician was leaving. Dragging the large hoses across the wet floor left "trail marks" on the newly cleaned floors. I had to clean up the trail marks left after the water dried. The technician was professional and worked quickly. I would use this company again but would be better prepared next time. I suggest they clearly indicate they do not clean tile showers or suggest they buy the equipment to be able to clean tile showers. I've never used a tile cleaning service so didn't know what to expect, how much water was involved, etc. live and learn.

While the basement was already finished once, it was basically simply boxed in with drywall and a drop ceiling and used as an open style recreation room. We needed to add a bedroom and a full bath and put a drywall ceiling in. I had used BTS Contracting several years ago to add a composite deck to my old house and was thrilled with the work so I called Bob again to get a bid for this job. I contacted Bob and told him what we wanted to do and we scheduled a day for him to come out to the house. As we walked through and told him what we wanted he was making notes and giving us his ideas along the way. There is not a lot of space in the basement. We wanted to have a livable bedroom for an older teenager but still have a separate room for a couch, TV and chair. He gave ideas on where we could save space and how to arrange the layout to afford us the most living space. The bathroom added a level of difficulty to the job because the half bath rough in was not where we wanted it. Therefore, concrete had to be torn up and the drain for the toilet moved. In addition, we wanted to add a larger capacity water heater to accommodate the extra people who would now be living there. Bob made his notes and stated he would get together some ideas and get back to us. Within a couple days Bob contacted me and said he was ready to meet to go over his estimate. He came back to the house and had several computer sketches of what he thought would give us the most room. He also had an estimate which included the aforementioned work and also replacing the windows. The windows that were previously installed were single pane and very drafty. They were adequate for a rec room but not so much for actual living space. After some very minor changes, we were satisfied with the ideas and the estimate and approved the work to be completed. As luck would have it, he had some space between jobs where his crew was able to get started fairly quickly. On the day work was to begin, Bob and his crew (Chris and John) arrived on time. They began their work after some brief introductions. Chris has been with him for several years and seems to be Bob?s right hand man so I was familiar with him but I did not know John. All were respectful and easy going. The first several days were mostly demolition. After that they moved towards the bathroom and moving the toilet. The new bathroom was going to be located in what was currently storage. They hung plastic around all of the items and any entrances into the other parts of the house. While it wasn?t exactly sealed, it did provide protection from the major part of the concrete dust. As I stated earlier, the moving of the toilet required them to dig through the foundation. The trench ran for about 10-12 feet in total. The plumbing was laid and was re-concreted over. The bedroom and TV room were simple enough and there was nothing overly extravagant about their construction. The bedroom was pretty straight forward; 4 walls with a full size closet with sliding doors. The TV room was the same but with an alcove instead of a closet. Chris ran most of the electric and the cable. Cable was run into 3 different locations; one into the bedroom and 2 into the TV room. Since we were not certain which wall the TV was going to be on they ran connections down both walls for us. We had made most of our requests in the bathroom. We wanted ceramic tile floor and a tile stand up shower. Allowances for tile, vanity, etc. were all built in to the estimate. The allowances were generous enough to give us a wide range of choices. We simply choose what we wanted and gave the list to Bob who picked it up. We gave Bob a layout of the pattern we wanted in the shower and he gave suggestions on how to tie the whole room together with the tile. We also wanted the floor tile to be on a 45 degree angle. This is where the attention to detail was going to show and he nailed it. The tile work in the bathroom was exactly what we were envisioning and then some. Not to take away from the rest of the job but this turned out to be the most impressive part of the completed project. As with any project like this, we did run into a couple issues. As the project went on, we changed a few things mid-stream. The change requests were taken in stride without issue. The shower door had some manufacturing defects. There were some sealant issues and it was not aesthetically pleasing. Bob noticed it and notified me by phone. Since it was going to be some time before the new door arrived, he went ahead and installed the door but ordered a new one so the shower could be used. Once the new one came in he returned and replaced the door. Another issue was with the new window in the bedroom. This one was a little more difficult to troubleshoot but he and Chris solved the problem quickly. This was the second time I had hired BTS Contracting. I would recommend them to anyone looking for quality work and would hire them again for my next project. Bob and Chris did the majority of the work. They were friendly, helpful and accommodating to our requests for change. Their experience shows through their quality work and attention to detail "},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/oh/amelia/bts-contracting-inc-reviews-5460051.htm"},"position":7},{"@type":"ListItem","item":{"@type":"LocalBusiness","name":"Integrity Carpet & Upholstery Cleaning","address":{"@type":"PostalAddress","addressRegion":"OH","addressCountry":"US"},"review":{"@type":"Review","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"LISA F."},"reviewBody":"
This is the 2nd time I've contracted with James. He worked with "us" to cover 3 residences in the NKY area. They were smaller jobs in each house - we added a bathroom tile cleaning at one, once he arrived. James is very responsive, knowledgeable and professional in all aspects of his efforts from the moment you call him till he leaves the project. And the carpets and other floor look fantastic ! Would definitely have him do this work next time it's needed.

"We had Remark Construction finish our basement recently, and honestly, the whole experience was fantastic. From day one, they were super professional, easy to talk to, and really respectful of our home and time. At the start of the project, we worked directly with Chris, the owner, and he was great—quick to respond, gave us a fair price, and explained everything clearly. He laid out the process in a way that made sense and didn’t drag things out. We always knew what to expect, and he gave us a few pricing options so my husband and I could make the best decision for us. When it came time to sign the contract, Chris and Jesse sat down with us and walked through every detail. They were so easy to work with and made sure we were all aligned before moving forward. The selection process was super smooth—the whole team helped guide us through it, and they made it easy for us to make choices without feeling overwhelmed. Once things got rolling, the project moved fast. Our site manager, Brandon, was amazing. He gave us true white glove service—always professional, incredibly detail-oriented, and consistently went above and beyond. He kept us updated daily and weekly, made sure we understood what was happening, and double-checked every decision before moving forward. He was also incredibly respectful of our home. Even though it was a construction zone, we were genuinely amazed at how clean and well-kept everything was every single day. It made a huge difference and showed how much care he put into the project. Before wrapping up, he made sure every last detail was perfect before asking for our final review, and handled anything we asked for. We’re beyond happy with how everything turned out. Remark Construction made the whole process smooth and stress-free. Highly recommend!"

"Sam takes the prize in my book for his knowledge, professionalism, timeliness, and quality work at a fair price. He did what he said he would do when he said he would and for how much. Communication was clear and responsive. My two bathroom floors are absolutely beautiful and were done on time and on budget. He even installed two new toilets and a moisture proof underfloor in my master bath in case I want to remodel the shower in the future. Things I hadn't considered but so glad he did. I was pleasantly surprised about how neat and clean he left the work areas and finished floors. He was stellar in every way and I wouldn't hesitate one bit to recommend him or ask him to do another job. I've had several things redone in my place in the last two months and Sam and his work are miles above all the others."

"Wonderful kitchen remodel 1st in Home Improvements did a great job on my complete kitchen remodel. Various updates had been made to the kitchen in our 1913 home but never with any planning or thought. It was definitely time for a total makeover. Although a fairly large room, approx. 280 sq. feet, with tall windows on two outside walls, an open stairway to the basement, hallway entering the middle of the space and a door to the dining room there wasn’t much wall space to place cabinets in a cohesive manner. There was space in the middle of the room for an 8 foot island. Efficient use of space dictated that we put the sink in the island and Joe accomplished this with no problems. One glitch we ran into during the construction process was the island turned out to be too close to the back wall cabinets and the space was very tight. Joe and his crew took the island apart and moved it a couple of inches into the room, away from the back cabinets, with minimal complaint. This seemingly small adjustment improved the workflow space and I was grateful for their effort. They built two pantry closets in space that was difficult to utilize. This greatly improved the storage in the kitchen, making it possible to store many needed items without a great deal of cabinetry. While in the process of initial planning and gathering cost information, Joe made the suggestion to put recessed lighting in the ceiling, which I wasn’t planning to do because I thought it would be too expensive. He pointed out that he would have to tear the ceiling up anyway so it wouldn’t add much to the cost. This turned out to be a great decision providing a lot of excellent lighting without being obtrusive. During construction, Joe asked many questions, making sure that they were proceeding according to my wishes. We ran into a problem while laying out the handmade tile backsplash with elongated diamond shaped tiles. The pattern that I had initially chosen had many straight lines, resulting in wavy lines everywhere that were too unnerving. Joe and his crew suggested an alternative way of laying out the tiles, which turned out to be an improvement on the original pattern and resulted in a great looking backsplash. The quality control turned out to be substandard on the custom cabinets I had ordered online. Although the company was willing to make replacements, getting them to do so in a timely manner was difficult. Joe did a great job of fixing them up in some cases, and making them look good. He even returned after finishing the job to put on a replacement cabinet door that arrived after the job was completed. Joe and his crew painted the kitchen and trim, laid a new LVT floor, installed large glass pendant fixtures over the island, in short did everything necessary to complete a gorgeous new kitchen. And did so while being pleasant to be around and tidying up the workspace everyday before leaving the jobsite. I highly recommend 1st in Home Improvements. They produced a beautiful kitchen and did so for a reasonable price."

Repair Bathroom Tile questions, answered by experts
If your floor tile grout is cracked, unsealed, or has small holes, then it’s time to regrout your tile flooring. Your grout is more prone to staining when it’s worn down, so consider regrouting when it shows signs of wear.
Ceramic paint can be worth it for certain situations, primarily if you live in harsh weather conditions or extreme temperatures and want a long-lasting paint solution. If you live in a mild climate, plan to change the color frequently, or have budget constraints, traditional paint may work for your needs.
If your budget can stretch to it, opting for porcelain tile over ceramic tile makes sense if you need something hard-wearing for a busy, moisture-retaining space. However, the cost of installing ceramic tiles is less expensive. They’re a little softer and easier to work with, making them a good choice for small, decorative DIY projects.
If you caulk over old caulk, your new application won’t stick, which is why it’s important to completely remove the old seal. However, once you apply the new caulk properly, you can get 5 to 10 years out of the new seal around the tub.
When working on your bathroom floor tiling, you should always tile the floor first and then refit the toilet afterward. This has both practical and visual advantages—the tile will have a better seal, and the installation will look cleaner.
On the other hand, when you try to cut the tiles to fit around the toilet, you’re putting yourself at a disadvantage. It’s a lot more work, it’s hard to be precise, and mistakes or miscalculations can lead to future moisture damage to the tiling, grout, and subfloor.
