"Smart Level Concrete leveled my driveway, sidewalk and steps a year ago. But when a small crack appeared in my drive and seemed to get worse, a representative came and promptly filled the crack. No questions asked and at no cost. I give Nancy who handled my call and Dâ  Andre who did the repair high marks for their customer service. Good people. Good company. Good warranty."

"Sales Rep. Kevin took plenty of time to explain how repairs would be made, and the expected outcome. The work crew showed up right on time, introduced themselves and were very courteous and respectful of our property. They went to work right away and when they finished, they explained to us what was done, and how long it would take for the concrete to dry. Cleaned up the area very nicely. Would hire again, and we have referred them to our friends. Great Job!"

Experienced Mason | Century Chimney Lead Mason\n\nI’m the lead mason at Century Chimney with years of hands-on experience in masonry and chimney work. Here’s what I specialize in:\n\n • Building and tearing down brick chimneys\n • Tuckpointing and mortar repair\n • Mixing custom mortar and color matching it to your existing brick\n • Concrete crown construction and repair\n • General masonry repair work\n\nI care about doing the job right, and that means getting the small details correct too, like making sure new mortar actually matches the old brick instead of sticking out like a patch job. Concrete Leveling questions, answered by experts

Generally speaking, push piers—or steel piers—are the best option for underpinning, as they reach down to solid bedrock to find support for your foundation rather than relying on soil, which could be subject to the same issues as the soil directly below your foundation. However, the best underpinning method for your home depends on your location, how far down the bedrock is, and the type of soil in your area. Helical piers are usually the best option for sandy soil or in areas where the bedrock is too deep to use steel piers.

Most projects take 1-3 hours, with immediate usability after completion.

Polyjacking and mudjacking can both be effective solutions for sinking concrete, but they have key differences. Polyjacking, which uses expanding polyurethane foam, is often considered a better option because the foam is significantly lighter than the cementitious material used for mudjacking. This reduced weight puts less pressure on the underlying soil and lowers the risk of future sinking. Polyjacking is suitable for any sinking concrete slab, while mudjacking is typically only recommended for non-structural concrete, such as sidewalks, patios, pool decks, and driveways. The primary drawback of polyjacking is its cost, which can be up to four times higher than mudjacking—as much as $25 per square foot compared to a maximum of about $6 per square foot for mudjacking.

Mudjacking is usually reserved for light-duty slabs, like patios, driveways, and sidewalks. However, it can be an effective way to lift garage slabs and concrete around the perimeter of the home, which could harm your foundation if it’s not done properly. The risk of damage is why having a professional mudjacking company carry out the work is important. This type of slab or foundation repair is relatively inexpensive, especially if you consider that a DIY job requires that you pay to rent the necessary equipment.

Mudjacking typically takes 24 to 72 hours (one to three days) to dry and cure completely before you can resume normal use. The exact time can vary depending on the size of the project. Because the slurry mixture contains cement, it must fully harden to ensure that added weight from walking, furniture, or vehicles won't shift the concrete slab. A professional contractor can advise you on when the surface is safe to use. For comparison, if you use polyjacking instead, the polyurethane foam can dry in just a few minutes, but it's best to wait about an hour before use.
