"On the morning of February 8th, 2021, I awoke to a cold house and instantly panicked. My furnace had stopped working and I went through one horrible senario after another - frozen pipes, ruined interior, etc. The outside temperature was in the single digits, and I assumed the inside temperature would soon match it. I Googled furnace repair and the first name on the list was Kobella's. They had the best rating and found out why. Mike T. and his partner Bobby replaced my furnace and got my heat back with a minimum of disruption to my daily life. Mike showed up at 8:30 am on the 8th, carefully examined the furnace, pronounced it DOA with a detailed explanation as to why, and suggested two different models of new furnaces. He managed to get the old furnace running for one more night and left me four space heaters to protect me and the house in case the furnace failed during the night. The next day Mike and Bobby showed up promptly at 8:30 pm and replaced the furnace, installed new duct work, sealed it, installed a new thermostat and showed me how to use it, all in about 5 hours. My house is toasty and I am happy. Thanks Mike and Bobby."

"I did not have any dislikes. They were good and responsive. They came within what they estimated. It was monster of a job and they had five people at one time trying to get it installed. They although were very expensive, the value was worth it, certainly working better than what I had. I am contracted with them now and use them intermittently."

"My wife and I are licensed architects and very particular and demanding of our contractors. Bob explained the technology of his products and took the time to listen and understand the job. He was flexible and able to use the particular shingle we wanted which wasn't his preferred brand. We also replaced a flat roofed porch and, on the week of the job, we asked that he install a roll roofing material that closely matched the roof shingles' color. He quickly located that particular material which was not at his usual supplier. Most contractors would not have catered to their clients as he did. His workers showed up when they said and were neat and courteous. The flat roof took much longer than expected due to the difficulty of removing the railing, but they didn't charge more. The roofs look great and we are glad to have chosen Northeast Ohio Renovations."

"I was having drainage problems with my downspouts on the back of my house not draining correctly. Since I bought a house almost 50 years old I had no idea where the water should come out and why it was backing up. Designs of Akron-Canton came in assessed my problem gave me an idea of what should be done what a great price. The owner Kevan was very professional, and very easy to talk and the quote seemed very reasonable so honestly I just didn’t have the time or patience to keep having people come in, so I just went with them and I’m glad I did. they did a great job and they did the job in a timely manner and best of all they didn’t leave a mess around my house."

Install Garbage Disposal questions, answered by experts

The two main negatives of garbage disposals are they are a safety hazard in homes with children, and they frequently encounter blockage issues. While they might be annoying to fix and monitor, garbage disposals can significantly lower your trash use and are a great way to dispose of organic waste. While there are negatives, the vast majority of homeowners acknowledge the positives are enough to install a disposal in their home.

If you cook a lot or have a larger household, a garbage disposal can be worth it, since it streamlines your kitchen duties and helps to keep food waste out of landfills. It helps to know the cost of garbage disposal installation before you make your decision. The average price is about $400, but you can expect to pay more for higher-end models or if you hire a pro to do the job for you.

While the drain connection for a garbage disposal is nearly universal and fits standard sink drain holes of 3 1/2 to 4 inches, the size of the disposal unit itself is not. You must have enough space in the cabinet underneath your sink to accommodate the disposal's housing. A larger model may not fit in a compact cabinet or if the existing plumbing is arranged in an unusual way. Before buying a new garbage disposal, measure the available space under your sink. If you are replacing an old unit, it's often easiest to choose a new model of a similar size.

On average, it takes one to four hours for a professional to install a garbage disposal. This includes removing the old unit, taking necessary measurements for positioning, removing and fitting new pipes, and installing the brand-new disposal system. If there are unforeseen issues, such as accessibility concerns, the process takes longer.

Your garbage disposal will only affect the health of your septic tank if you’re using it too frequently, or filling it with organic waste that doesn’t fully break down. If the tank fills up with too many solids, the bacteria won’t have enough time to consume it before more is added, which can lead to an overflow in the drain field. Your tank will need to be pumped more frequently with excessive or improper garbage disposal use.
