"The job went very well. The crew did a great job with the tree removal and cleanup. They even cut down a couple of small trees that were dead that I hadn't noticed. Everyone was very cordial and polite. Would recommend Brian to anyone in the Lorain County area."

"he was the only one to respond but he was very profesional and kind. I have had quotes from others and he is very reasonable. His task will begin in November with Fall cleanup but also will include tree trimming in Spring. I look forward to working with him."

Customers say: Terrific value

"We hired Mueller Lawncare to put in some new landscaping in Bay Village. We were faced with a few challenges, one being the deer population in Bay Village, the other being the underground utilities near the property line. Kirk suggested going with a raised bed and plants that would be best suited so as deer to be both deer resistant and that would also accommodate our privacy needs. Kirk worked around our work schedules, and the weather so as to pick a day so as we could both be home to see and approve the final placement of the plants. Mueller Lawncare offered 1st Class service and design. Kirk and his crew were prompt, courteous and professional. We couldn't be happier with the results. We look forward to working with him again on future phase 2/3."

"Our old foundation plantings were over 25 years old and badly overgrown.  You couldn't see our front door and shrubs were starting to block the windows.  We decided a total makover was the answer.  We found Bruno's through Angie's List.  We liked the fact that Bruno is local and he's a hands-on owner.  He took a lot of time to understand what we wanted and drew up a plan as we talked.  He showed us pictures of plants he suggested and offered alternatives if we had other ideas.  His price was within our budget and included all of the work that we hoped to get done.  Another landscaper would have been $800 more for less work.

He arrived with a full crew (5 + himself) about 9:00 AM, with all plants and material.  They had all of the old stuff removed and cleaned up in about an hour and a half.  Then they layed out the plants and Bruno reviewed the plan with us.  Then the crew planted and mulched the bed.  They cleaned up and  reshaped a bed in back of our house and transplanted ground cover from the front, and mulched the bed.  Also transplanted Day Lilies and ground cover to a small bed behind our bedroom and mulched.

Finally, we also had 2 nearly dead Lilacs at the back of our yard which they cut down, ground out, filled and seeded, plus a 3rd Lilac that they pruned to rejuvenate it.

All this and they were cleaned up and gone by 3:15.  We think it looks great and will be much easier to maintain.

"Second job he has done for us and as before very efficient and had plenty of help. Knows his stuff and has excellent safety measures place for all his workers. I would highly recommend. He had to have a crane at one of the sites and got into a very small space between houses. I would have him do any job"

Arborists questions, answered by experts

Tree roots don’t necessarily break through concrete on their own, but they can certainly take advantage of existing cracks, even very small ones. As roots grow, they expand the cracks, making them larger and leading to serious and costly foundation damage. It’s a good idea to have repairs on any foundation cracks you’re concerned about.

Most tree removals take 3-8 hours, requiring additional time for stump grinding or debris hauling.

Stump grinding consists of removing the visible part of the stump, but the roots remain intact. Depending on the tree and root system, the roots may still grow after stump grinding. If you are concerned about root growth and damage, you may want to consider having a stump removed completely.

The fastest ways to remove a tree stump are by grinding it or burning it.

Stump grinding is often the quickest method, with professionals able to chip away a stump and its roots within a single session. You have the option to hire a professional stump removal service or rent a stump grinder to do it yourself. However, it's important to note that these machines can be large, difficult to transport, and dangerous to operate without prior experience. For safety reasons, hiring a local arborist or landscape specialist is often recommended.

Burning is another fast option. Before you begin, check your local burn laws. The process involves drilling holes into the stump, filling them with vegetable oil, and waiting 24 to 48 hours. Afterward, you can add charcoal bricks to the surface and light the fire, which must be attended at all times.

For a more affordable but much slower alternative, you can use potassium nitrate pellets to accelerate the natural decomposition process. This method typically takes four to six months.

There are a few instances in which removing a tree is the best option. You might do this if the tree looks to be a major danger—potentially falling onto your home, your car, or other parts of your property—or it’s diseased beyond repair. A tree that is growing too close to your house might need to be removed to prevent mold growth.
