I'm not quick to remove a tree, and I wanted a "certified arborist" to evaluate a silver maple in my back yard before the tree would become a problem. The closest one to me was ecoTree services. On their web site it had map that included part of the westside of Cleveland,(I'm located in the Kamm's area). I called, gave them my location and made an appointment for the following week. I received a call back about an hour later from a young guy, the first thing out of his mouth was that it was going to take him 45min to drive out to my place and that I should call someone else. I explained that I got their name from the site, treesaregood.org, which has a list of certified arborist and that they were the only ones in this area that can risk assessed my tree. He gave me a price to come out of $150. I said, fine. Again he said that I should find someone closer. Bottom line, they didn't want the job. ecoTree should really update their web site to not include Cleveland in their service area.

I guess the old saying you get what you pay for holds true. Received a very reasonable quote from ecotree but... I was very dissatisfied with the way things were left. Stumps left with dangerous spikes.. Took a week and three phone calls to get them out to take care of that. A loaded down crane was driven through my neighbor's yard when there was access room on my property. Was told "well your neighbor signed the waiver". So be wary when signing a waiver...it gives them carte blanche to tear up adjoining properties when not necessary. Now out another $1,100.00 to fix his yard.

They came out to quote within a couple of days and gave me insight into what was going wrong with the pines. The manager also took the time to inspect and comment on several other trees in the yard as well. A quote was given verbally and followed up in writing that week. The price was competitive and I liked the guy so I accepted the quote. They recommended 2 treatments (2016 /2017) The technician who did the work was knowledgeable and polite( a true professional) The trees look much better and I credit them with stopping the spread to the surviving trees.

The removal of the tree and all of the stumps went fantastic and far exceeded our expectations. After contacting EcoTree Services, an appointment was setup promptly and one of their estimators came out and provided a quote for services. The cost was a lot less than we expected. The removal of the tree was scheduled first and then the removal of the stumps was done 3 days later since they have two different crews for each task. They showed up to the job site right on time at 9:30am and began immediately. I was astonished at how quickly they had the tree down and removed. In all it took them only 45 minutes including cleanup. Since this is a residential neighborhood in the city, they had to deal with tight clearances between our house and the neighbors. The tree was located in the backyard in close proximity to the houses, power lines the neighbors privacy fence directly next to it. They have serious machinery and brought a single man bucket truck and an articulating boom crane. After talking with their crew, I found out that they are one of the only companies in the area with an articulating boom crane. They have a standard boom crane as well, but they opted to use the articulating boom crane due to the site constraints. The boom truck was parked in the neighbor's driveway on the other side of their house. They positioned the crane truck at the front of our driveway at the street. They sent a man to the top of the tree using the boom truck to attach a harness from the articulating boom crane to the tree limb section. He then proceeded to cut off the section with a chainsaw and the crane operator removed the section over our neighbors house directly to the street where they had a chipping trailer waiting. He did this via remote control so he was able to stand in the backyard and coordinate with the guy chainsawing up in the tree and then he was able to walk to the front yard and coordinate with the other crew as he brought the limbs to the street. Two crew members then began to use chainsaws to strip the main sections down to a size that would fit into the chipper. They were very efficient and were able to remove the limb portion of tree in 3 sections. Next, the main trunk was cut into about 4 large sections and removed to the rear flatbed portion of the boom truck. By the time the last trunk section was being lowered onto the truck, the other crew had already cleaned up the street of debris. Again, they were ready to leave the site, clean and all, after 45 minutes. Three days later, their stump grinding crew came out to the site to remove the stump from the removed tree and the others on site. Those stumps were easy for them to remove. However, one stump between the houses had a diameter in excess of 10 feet. Before we had contracted with EcoTree Service, we had contacted other stump grinding services and when they looked at the stump, they laughed and said, "I've never seen anything like that, our machine is not large enough to handle that, you'll need to find someone with a bigger machine." EcoTree Service was able to easily remove the stump, although it did take time because of it's size. The professionalism of the process and crew was exemplary. All of the crew were very friendly and wearing proper safety equipment at all times. Moreover, in talking with their crew, they have an array of different machinery to handle a multitude of different jobs. I was surprised to learn that the stump grinder that they used for our monster stump wasn't even their largest. I now understand how they were able to give us such a good rate on the removal. They are very well organized and don't mess around when they are on site. Also, with their efficiency and minimal site disruption, our other contractors were able to be on site working at the same time. We will not hesitate to bring them out to another one of our projects in the near future.

They have not been out to do the work yet, but we are extremely impressed with the job estimator/owner. They have certified arborists and seem to be more in tune with tree care than the average guy that comes out to cut limbs off. They are very informative and helpful. The estimator came out to do the estimate in a timely manner. We got an estimate in the mail and I was very impressed. He has been in the business for 35 years and is very professional. I recommend his services to people that really care about their trees and are not just looking for one to get cut down. This company is for people who want continuing tree care, because he is a tree doctor. They also do tree and stump removal. We found him from an ad in the local paper. His estimate was very fair and he spends a lot of time with us. He answers our questions and takes his time.

I was really upset with them. Their price was more reasonable than other places, but dealing with them was awful. The guy that came out for the quote was very eccentric and I had trouble communicating with him, and six weeks later they still hadn't come out to do the work. I called and they sent someone out the next day, but he said he wouldn't have treated the crabapples the way the first guy recommended. He said he would come back in two weeks to spray the trees in the front, but he never came. I called four weeks later and never heard back from them. The price was okay but they didn't take care of the problem. The guy that came out seemed conscientious about the application, but I never saw him again.

"Apple Scab is a fungus. It's initial activity is sporatic during April/May/June and treatment prior to this is a waste of money. The gentleman who applied the treatment preferred a different chemical. Why? We each have our preferred methods in our jobs. The treatment recommended by me (Al Shauck, Sales Manager) was systemic. The process results in a longer control period. Apple Scab is exaserbated by wet, cool weather for which 2011 holds the record! We did not have a contract to treat any trees in the front, so I am not certain why the member expected it. We are a customer driven business...it is our policy to return every phone call that comes into our office. We have no record of complaint from the member as well. He did call 2 times prior to treatment to inquire why we hadn't come out yet. The treatment schedule was explained each time. We strive for Customer Satisfaction and will continue to do so."

They have a professional horticulture guy who comes out to do the job. Our overall experience was excellent. We had a big tree branch that fell off last year, and they came out to take it out right away.

The crew was excellent. They laid down some huge mats in our front yard so the truck would not damage the yard. They cleaned up very thoroughly after the work was done.

See above. Trees fell in yard during icestorm around 2/15/11. Tree service was out the next day after I called to remove the trees. However, they have not returned to perform the stump grinding.

The gentleman confirmed our suspicion and recommended a product to exterminate them that is readily available at local garden stores or home centers. This product was environmentally friendly i.e. no long list of pesticides. He did not charge us for his time or advice.

I really like these guys, they do an excellent job, no fuss, very clean and efficient. I especially like the fact that they dont try to cut everything down in the yard for the sake of money. Another tree company came out and gave me an estimate 3x as much but he wanted to prune and cut everything out. Al explained about tree care and pruning so I can do some myself and suggestions on what to plant in their place, he knows his trees and I will definitely have them out again next year as I have an old property with lots of trees and shrubs. I highly recommend them.

I called for an estimate and within about a week, Jason came out. He explained everything and gave me a quote right then. I signed the quote and then, within two weeks, my bushes were gone! I wasn't there when the crew came, but my neighbors said they all worked together as a team. Overall, I am very happy!
