"My roof is very large and quite complex. From what I understand, their price was reasonable for such a big jom. Very reliable, did great job. Started when they said they'd start and finished when they said they would."

"They did a great job. They solved all the problems I had with the chimney and it’s been working perfectly ever since. They also fixed a problem on the roof around the chimney; they replaced the wood around the chimney with a material that would never rot, so they fixed it even better than it was before. It took them a couple of days to do the work. They took care of all the cleanup as well. We've been real happy with them."

"Jody Plant Masonry did a complete chimney rebuilt. Jody, the owner, answered all my questions I had throughout the project. The work was done in a professional and timely manner. All the workers were polite and each and every day cleaned up after themselves. Anytime there was any type off issue, Jody was on it and had it taken care of right away. The final product looks great, and I would definitely use Jody 's company again in the future and would refer him to others. Also, the cost of the project was very competitive and fair."

"The roof was very steep, but they did a wonderful job for an extremely reasonable price.  I really appreciated that they arrived on time, were honest to me, and even took pictures of the the chimneys which they brought down to show me."

"They took care of the leak immediately, and they ended up coming back and putting a new roof on for us. They walked us through everything with the insurance adjuster, and we loved working with them. We would recommend them highly to anyone."

Chimney Caps questions, answered by experts

No, range hoods do not necessarily have to be vented outside. Ductless or non-vented range hoods are available, which are common in condos or small kitchens where connecting to external ductwork isn't feasible. These hoods operate by taking in air, filtering it through charcoal filters to help eliminate smoke and odors, and then recirculating the cleaned air back into the kitchen. However, while these recirculating hoods are more versatile, venting to the outside is still the preferred and more effective method for completely removing smoke, odors, and gases from the room.

You should contact a local range hood installation professional to install your range hood and do the ductwork. Prices range from $50 to $100 per hour, with the total number of hours required varying based on the project complexity. Simple installations might take an hour or two, while more complicated ones can take four hours or more.

If a range hood has minor issues, the average repair costs $85 to $210. This accounts for both parts and labor. More extensive damage can cost as much as $300 to $500, at which point it may be worth considering completely replacing the range hood.

A higher CFM will make the price of your range hood more expensive. It can be challenging to speculate how much the CFM rating affects price, but ductless range hoods—that don’t need as high of a CFM as ducted range hoods—are less expensive than their alternative. On average, ductless hoods cost between $100 and $300, while ducted hoods can cost as much as $1,000.

Neglected maintenance can lead to odors, fire hazards, impaired airflow, and reduced range and hood operation efficiency.
