"John is very good at what he does. He installed a 50 amp outdoor electrical circuit for me and I couldn’t be happier. He discussed safety concerns, offered reasonable upgrades and even stopped the job and ran for better parts when he realized what he had purchased wasn’t as good as he would like. His quote for the work was very reasonable and he charged me EXACTLY what he quoted even after needing to exchange parts for me. A great electrician. Capable reliable and trustworthy! I will be hiring John again soon for an additional electrical project. I’m happy to have a great contractor to work with me. Thank you! "

Paul's Electric is a licensed and Insured electrical company doing both residential and light commercial. I just signed back up with Angies list in June of 2022 as i was too busy last year to handle all the calls. Deal directlywith owner. 1 year warranty on all my work and parts. I have over 15 years of experience as an electrician. We upgrade services, install new circuits, lighting including recessed, hanging, outdoor flood and post lights. Fix electrical issues such as circuit breakers tripping, outlets (such as G.F.C.I.'s not working) or lights not working etc. I install portable generator hook ups (transfer kits) so you can safely hook up a generator safely. Please give us a call.

"Paul is extremely professional, reviewed process with us before starting work, and cleans up after himself. He so has great staff."

Ceiling Fans questions, answered by experts

Coffered ceilings often come with additional embellishments and accessories, including tin panels, medallions, trim, molding, recessed lights, and finials. Whether you’re looking for a simple grid pattern or want an elaborate, decorative ceiling with all the bells and whistles, there are plenty of options to choose from.

If your home already has wires for a ceiling fan (and optional light kit), then it’s quite safe to wire and install it yourself. Always be very careful to shut off the power before you begin, and confirm that the power is safely off with a non-contact voltage tester before touching anything. It’s also highly recommended to use eye protection, rubberized gloves, and tools with rubber handles to keep yourself safe from electric shock.

Yes, adding wiring for a ceiling fan where there is none requires an electrician to build the electrical infrastructure. You should not attempt to do this job yourself, as electrical work can be dangerous without experience. All told, the job is a big one, and it might cost up to $2,000.

If you’re removing a ceiling fan without visible screws, start by locating the fan canopy—a round cover placed above the fan blades and motor. There should be a thin ring that can be turned counterclockwise to remove the canopy and reveal the screws. After unscrewing the fan, you can disconnect the wires and remove the entire fan from the mounting hardware. For safety, make sure the fan switch is turned off before you remove the canopy. It may be easier to remove the fan blades first, too.

Many ceiling fan mounts feature a design that can accommodate slight slopes by using a ball joint mechanism at the end of the downrod. If your ceiling has a steeper slope than your fan allows for, you can install a downrod that will allow your fan to safely hang below the slope.
