This was a nightmare. I must now involve my lawyer to explore restitution from Ed Green Electric. I used Angie's List to find them, and will NEVER use it again. Shame on you, Angie !!

I would love to give Matt and his crew an A plus, across the board because they are genuinely nice people, but my experience with getting this service installed for our hot tub has been painfull. The original breaker that was installed was defective. The second breaker is defective and after spending $300 to have the spa folks out, apparently it's also under sized. The fourth trip back with a new larger breaker was a bust because they had the wrong brand and it wouldn't fit the existing box! My main complaint is LACK OF COMMUNICATION. I have left two messages for Matt without getting the courtesy of a return phone call. I had to leave the entry code to my house to allow completion of the job, and have no idea when they are coming and who will be in my home while I am gone. The electrical work they did to install lights and a fan over the hot tub also required two trips because one of the lights wasn't hooked up right! I want to use these guys again for additional work because they are so darned nice, but frankly I don't know if they are truly qualified.

We moved into a house built in 1871. Matt walked through the entire house listening to what improvements we wanted, and also told me what we needed so we could have a safe home. We replaced light fixtures in almost every room of the house. Each bedroom had ceiling fans with lights installed. The electricians suggested dimmer switches that would work on the fans and lights. My husband and I went to store and entirely filled our car with ceiling lights, sconces, dining room fixture, hallway pendant light, a yard lamppost, garage lighting and replaced almost every outlet in the house. When they started, I'm not sure we had ONE grounded outlet in the house. Even the refrigerator was plugged in with an adapter. In addition, they installed a gas heater in our living room and hung our big screen TV. They do much more than just electrical work. Plus, they found melted wires that had to be replaced. They had to have AEP come to our house to move the outside electrical box that wasn't installed to code.
The services weren't cheap but we had 2-3 guys at our house for over two weeks. We had them come back to do more work over a month after they finished. When the local cable company did a lousy installation job, we called Matt to have his guys come fix the cable company's job.
If the guys said they would meet me at the house in ten minutes, they were waiting on me when I got there. They worked long days, and often right through lunch. My mom said to tell them they were messy, hah, but I would rather clean up after them than pay them extra for things I could do myself. Our house gave them quite a challenge but they never complained. If we have future electrical work, we'll be calling them back because no one knows our house better!

I used Ed Green electric on one of my rentals to inspect a meter for the electric provider to restore electric. He did show up on time and advise the electric provider that the meter passed inspection. A day later the electric was restored. Since I was satisfied with this first job I decided to us Ed Green again for another of my rentals to give an electrical repair estimate due to vandals destroyed the wiring in the house. He did show up on time for the appointment in July 2012 and said I will give you your estimate in about one day. I never received his estimate, I called his cell phone and his office, left massages. I even e-mailed him. I called him, left messages with him for 4 days with no response from him. I finally got a hold of his office staff and they got a hold of him immediately and got back with stating Ed will send you his estimate later today 7/21/12. I still did not receive his estimate; I decided to give up and went with another electrician. A month later in August I receive a $250.00 bill from Ed Green electric for the estimate at my second rental for the vandalized wiring. I called him immediately and told him I will not pay $250.00 for a "free estimate" that I never received. I also reminded him he never returned my calls in July and that this is very un-professional. We argued on the phone and eventually he said he will look into this matter and will get back with me. He never called me back or apologize. However he never sent me the $250.00 bill again either. I will not use Ed Green Electric again.

I disliked the lack of an itemized bill. Everything they worked on is working fine though.
