Welcome to Origin Group, LLC, your premier residential inspector who's professionalism is next to none. Owner and operator Erich has over 20 years of experience in insurance disaster industry and has seen some of the worst damages you could imagine. Most damages could have been avoided my minor home upkeep and awareness of possible future issues in and around the home. He understands the importance of evaluating a property correctly and is incredibly thorough on every job he completes. Home buyers and home sellers need to also take into account the condition of the home there about to purchase. Most homeowners think there house is perfect but the fact is there is no perfect home. Buyers need to be aware of the risks of purchasing a home that might burden them with unknown out of pocket costs. We also do maintenance inspections that can be set up annually or even up every two or three years. The maintenance report will keep you on top of your project and ahead of future disasters.

"Eric is the ideal person for this work. He has all the personal and professional communication skills. He'll tell you the good news and the bad. All at a very fair price. You won't regret hiring him."

Home Inspection questions, answered by experts

The natural breakdown of uranium in soil, rock, and water can cause radon to appear in a home. The gas seeps into homes through cracks in foundations, walls, or floors, as well as through gaps around pipes or construction joints. Radon levels are influenced by soil composition, building materials, and ventilation. Poorly sealed or airtight homes can trap radon, allowing it to accumulate.

Depending on location, sellers are often legally required to disclose a home’s defects to buyers, even if the home is being sold as-is. Certain types of defects, such as asbestos, mold, previous water damage, structural issues, and other safety risks, may be required to be disclosed, so check local laws to see what needs to be disclosed and what doesn’t.

It’s worth getting a wind mitigation inspection if you’re trying to save on your homeowners insurance. Plus, passing an inspection proves that your home is in good condition if a tropical storm, hurricane, or windstorm comes your way. Even if you don’t pass, getting a wind mitigation inspection is still helpful because it will let you know which areas to improve to make your home safer.

Visible growth, musty odors, and water damage are common indicators.

While you can perform many routine home maintenance jobs yourself, it’s often a good idea to bring pros in for certain tasks. HVAC maintenance, fireplace and chimney inspections, foundation repairs, and roof inspections and repairs should be handled by professionals who know what to look for and can safely perform repairs. You may also find it helpful to hire a local house cleaning service to help with deep cleaning.
