"Excellent! One of the first things we wanted to do when we bought our home was address the siding, because it faded (aluminum), and looked dingy. We had Brian and his team paint all of our siding, and it turned out great. Brian is a pleasure to work with. He really knows his stuff, is very thorough, and professional. It was truly his priority to make sure we were happy with the results (not just to get it done quickly and move on, like other providers). Also, his team was equally great. They had the job completed in a day, and came back the second day for finishing touches. Overall, I couldn’t be happier with Brian and his crew. If you want a great job with great customer service, I fully recommend them."

"MHI replaced a deck, stairs and walkway, added fascia and soffits, replaced the man door on the barn, and added gutters and leaf relief. Greg came out promptly to review the jobs and give an estimate. He was very professional and knowledgeable. The crews he sent to work on the different jobs did excellent work. We are extremely happy and hope to use them for other projects. We highly recommend them."

"I initially hired this company through an Angie's list special for $395 for a day's worth of painting, and then added on two more days at their "regular price" because it was a big job. I wished I was not paying by the day, but instead by the job, since some of the workers did a lot of standing around smoking and talking. (i am still finding cigarette butts.) Others worked very hard, so it was a very mixed bag of how hard and how steady they worked. It was quite hot, so breaks for water etc were expected.
When the job was "done" there were many bare spots. I know a lattice is difficult, and this is where most of the bare spots were, but there were other bare spots as well. Ben Kiss was very willing to send someone to "touch up" and this person did a fairly good job. He was not perfect, however. He got paint all over the latch for the gate and did not think to lift the latch and paint under that part. Plus there were still quite a few bare spots, which ultimately my husband had to finish.
The price didn't turn out to be that cheap, but I believe it was fair since the total of the special and the extra days still was  less than another estimate we got for the job.

Wallpaper Removal questions, answered by experts

To remove adhesive-backed wallpaper, you’ll need to soften the adhesive before you try peeling the wallpaper off the walls. You may wonder whether peel-and-stick wallpaper damages walls. It can depend on the removal method. Make sure to be patient and consider using a steamer, hair dryer, or adhesive remover to carefully take down adhesive-backed wallpaper.

While you can remove wallpaper yourself, it is a labor-intensive process that risks damaging your walls. Common DIY methods include using a steamer to loosen the adhesive or spraying the paper with a solution of hot water and vinegar or dish soap before scraping. However, steamers can cause irreparable damage if used incorrectly, and the spray-and-scrape method can harm drywall if it gets too wet or you scrape too aggressively. For these reasons, hiring a professional is often the fastest, easiest, and safest option. A pro has the experience and specialized tools to remove wallpaper efficiently without damaging the underlying surface, which saves time and minimizes the prep work needed for your next wall treatment.

If you can already see the texture of the existing wallpaper through the layer of paint, then the texture could also come through the new layer of wallpaper. If that’s the aesthetic you want, then proceed. But if you want a smoother surface, you should either strip off the existing paint and wallpaper or hang a layer of liner paper before proceeding.

Professionals handle heavy lifting, proper disposal, and recycling, reducing environmental impact.

In most cases, it is not recommended to wallpaper over existing wallpaper, as the success depends on the type of paper already on the wall. While you might be able to cover non-coated wallpaper, you should never apply new wallpaper over a vinyl-coated one, which is more common. Doing so can lead to poor adhesion, resulting in bubbles, imperfections, and peeling. It can also trap moisture, potentially causing hazardous mold growth between the layers.

Even if the existing wallpaper is suitable, experts recommend applying only one new layer. Adding multiple layers (more than two total) can cause significant adhesion problems, leading to warping and bubbling. For the best results, the recommended approach is to remove the old wallpaper and all paste residue before hanging the new paper. If you are unsure about your wallpaper type, consider consulting a professional.
