"Bob came out personally for an on-site review before providing a quote. He and his team completed the job on the agreed date. The pressure washing they did changed the appearance from a dirty exterior to a brand new house. Quite amazing. For the price agreed to, it was a fantastic transformation at a low cost. I would recommend Precision Window Cleaning to neighbors and family!"

"After researching and talking with other window installers, we decided to go with Jackson Egress. After several emails and them coming out to check the existing window, we agreed to the to have the 48x48 slider installed. My wife wanted the larger window for getting more light into the basement and I wanted the larger window so I could bring large objects into the basement. It was going to take over a month to get to our window but we agreed to the wait They arrived promptly at 8 as promised and began working. After working a little while I was informed that they would not be able to install the 48x48 and could only install the smaller window (no price difference). When my wife began to have reservations about the smaller window they acted as if they were going to just stop working and leave. Not wanting to have to wait months longer and wanting to start our basement remodel as soon as possible, we reluctantly agreed to the smaller window. On the plus side, they were punctual, respected our property and worked very hard to professionally install the window that they wanted to install. When everything was finished it looked great but I would not use their service again."

"We replaced the windows in our 1933 home through the services of MadCity Windows. From the initial contact with their sales representative to final installation, the company provided top notch professional work. With the draft from the old windows and the cold of the glass, we are already saving on our energy bills. Our house had old, large windows, so they had to be custom made. As an industrial designer and interior designer, we find our windows to be of excellent quality."

"As a result of very good service and high quality windows, I recommended Mike Murnane to my father (a retired real estate Broker- Rolls Realty- who is about as frugal as they come); he'd been wanting to do something about his windows for years. His ranch was built in 1964, and he'd been looking for a window that would match perfectly with the honey-colored maple throughout the house. Dad had looked at Pella and Rosati, but hadn't found a good match in keeping with the Colonial style of the home, at a reasonable cost. Mike showed my father some products initially, but after more consideration, pursued something he hadn't originally thought of, and returned with that product. It was a different line, but It was EXACTLY what Dad had been wanting- and after the job was completed, his visiting friends were not aware the windows had been replaced because they matched so perfectly. Dad ended up having exterior work ordered as well- he had gutters and gutter guards installed, and bought new shutters to replace the original wood ones. He was equally impressed with the people who came to install everything (this was a different team). They brought carpet protectors and drop cloths, and cleaned everything, leaving no trace that they'd been there. As a result, my sister and her husband ordered new windows, a new front door, and a rear sliding glass door replacement.
I am a realtor, and have recommended Mike, his associates, and Atlas Roof and Exteriors to other agents, inspectors, neighbors, and friends.
What I like most is the value and the price. Mike knows what types of products are appropriate for the style and price point of homes. What would be appropriate for a house in the $129,900 range is not the same as what clients would expect in a $250,000 home; and of course, a home in the luxury market demands something above and beyond. The bottom line is to get an energy efficient window to add value and beauty to ANY home. I believe Mike works to get you what you want at a price that is affordable. I don't detect any of that smooth talking, bait and switch nonsense with Mike. The people with whom Mike works do what they say they will do.
Many home owners are intimidated by such a big investment. We've noticed a big difference in how our house feels as the weather has changed. It's quieter. The temperature is more uniform throughout the house and we're more comfortable. We're saving money because everything is airtight. I feel confident recommending Mr. Murnane and the company for which he works.

Windows questions, answered by experts

The amount of time window lintels last is based on the environment they’re installed in and the material that’s installed. For example, a steel lintel installed in a temperate climate will always last longer than a wooden or brick lintel installed in an area with tons of rain, snow, and wind. No matter which material you choose or where you live, proper maintenance will ensure your lintels last as long as possible.

Storm windows provide several key benefits. They offer improved insulation and soundproofing, which adds comfort to your home by regulating internal temperatures and blocking external elements. Storm windows also help reduce energy costs by preventing cold or hot air from getting inside. Additionally, they can protect the primary glass in your windows against weather damage.

The disadvantages of putting plastic over your windows are that they are time-consuming to install and don’t always have the aesthetic that you may be looking for. The plastic is lightweight and not at all sturdy, so if you have kids or pets, the plastic can rip easily, meaning you’ll need to replace it often. It also doesn’t allow for the freedom of window movement that window film or shades offer. The single advantage that plastic window coverings have is that they are inexpensive and can be simple to install.

Picture windows are still in style, even though they are one of the oldest types of windows. Other windows, like single- or double-hung windows and casement windows, have increased in popularity because they can open up for fresh air. However, homeowners still love the way a picture window can frame their lush outdoor garden or other pleasant neighborhood views.

Impact windows are a type of window made with impact-resistant glass, designed specifically for hurricanes. The glass, treated with ethylene-vinyl, can withstand winds up to 200 mph, as well as flying debris. Brands sometimes test their impact windows with large missile impact tests.

Impact windows may be required in some places. For instance, the Florida Building Code requires homes to have impact-resistant windows if they live within a mile of the coast where wind speeds can reach 110 mph or more.
