"Gutter Masters did a great job replacing the damaged gutter and fascia board above our garage door. The damage was very noticeable from the street. The house looks so much better and multiple neighbors have commented on the quality of the work."

"I also needed gutters/gutter guards and repairs. Very professional from start to finish and kept me informed via calls and text. Everything went smoothly on my end from the moment Tim 1st arrived to visiting the office with my final payment. The office staff-Sierra,Leah and Melodie as well as my site supervisor,Mark kept me in the loop every step of the way."

"I was so happy! During an especially hard rain 5-6 weeks ago, I noticed water pouring over my gutter and filling up my window well! In the pouring rain, I checked the drain at street level and it was clear. My glass block window was holding back the water as I bailed out the water but right then I knew I needed to do more. Gutter Boys did great job on a detached garage a year before so I called them again. They responded to my call quickly. Bobbie came out and recommended not only getting guards but also getting a larger gutter. He showed me the two quotes (one with just the guards and one with the guards and the larger gutter/drain -- and I decided to get the larger gutter/drain. It was less than two weeks and they were able to do the installation. Abraham was the team lead and did a great job answering my questions and listening to my concerns for landscaping and doing a thorough job. They finished the job on a Wednesday and four days later we had another super down pour of rain -- that gutter/drain did a great job moving all the water away from the house. I was so happy that I called them when I did, that they were responsive, that I said yes to the quote, that they came out in good time, and that the job was done so well. I gave them 4 stars on cost -- I did not shop around for a quote and they will tell you they aren't the cheapest in town so you are going to pay a bit more -- but that extra cost is worth the peace of mind I will have each time we have those heavy rains! And I will call them to do gutters in the back of house -- I do appreciate that they are happy to take care of my gutter guards and replacement one section of my house at a time."

Gutter Repair and Replacement questions, answered by experts

Yes. Excessive pitch in gutters can cause water to flow too rapidly, leading to a decrease in the gutter's water-holding capacity; consequently, during heavy rainstorms, water may awkwardly splash outside the gutters. Ideally, you should aim for a quarter-inch of gutter slope for every 10 feet of gutter run. However, it's important to note that this guideline may vary depending on your home's structure and the type of gutters being installed.

In most cases, it makes more sense to repair leaking or damaged gutters than it will to replace them. You’ll spend an average of $400 to repair your gutters, while full replacement will cost around $2,000 or more, depending on the gutter material and style and the size of your home. If your gutters are nearing the end of their lifespan—usually around 20 years for aluminum or vinyl gutters or up to 50 years for copper or steel—then it might make sense to replace them, as it could cost you less in the long run.

It is possible to repair your own gutters, but we don’t recommend it. First, gutters need to sit at a precise slope to direct water toward the downspouts but also appear level from the yard, and this task is challenging to get right through DIY gutter repair. Second, any mistakes you make could be costly if they cause water damage or foundation damage. It might seem unnecessary to spend $400 on professional gutter repair, but it pales in comparison to what you might pay if you make a mistake doing the work yourself.

The average cost to install or replace gutters is around $2,000, with typical project costs ranging from $900 to $7,000. Most companies charge between $4 and $30 per linear foot. The total price depends on several factors, including the size of your home, the complexity of its footprint, the gutter material (e.g., vinyl, metal), and the gutter style (e.g., half-round, custom-built). Additional elements like downspouts, corners, and optional add-ons like gutter guards can also increase the price. The condition of your roof is another consideration, as new gutters cannot be installed on a rotting or sloping roof. While it can be an expensive upfront cost, new gutters are a worthwhile, long-lasting investment for protecting your home's exterior. You can save up to half on labor costs by installing them yourself.

If you don't repair your home’s gutter leaks, water or the gutters themselves can damage your home’s siding, roofing, foundation, and landscaping. Untreated leaks encourage mildew, mold, and rot, depending on the type of siding material. The foundation, chimney, window frames, and drywall can also crack over time, leading to costly repairs.
