Customers say: True professional

"Chris power washed, our home, roof, patio and fence. He also power washed our rental property and the deck. He communicated well, was on time and the price was reasonable compared to other quotes. Both jobs were done in a timely manner and look fantastic."

"I cannot say enough positive things about Chris and Bobbie from Red Dirt Garden and Home who completed our sunroom project for Patio Enclosures. They were highly professional and knowledgeable about their craft. I have had other home improvement projects done at my home and I have not had the trust and confidence in any one like I had with Chris and Bobbie. I would highly recommend them for any home improvement project."

"We contacted John at 1st Impressions as well as a few other providers for a quote for a large patio project.  We were really looking for someone who would complete the entire project - design, installation, electrical, water/sprinklers, landscaping, etc.  John was prompt in his response to our initial request and came back with design plans within a week.  We negotiated a few things and got to a price-point and design that we liked.  Work began a few months later - however we were kept informed on the projected start date from the beginning.  John's guys (led by Keith) who performed the work were prompt and clearly knew what they were doing.  John's process for installing pavers consists of pouring concrete to create the base of the patio rather than using sand like many other contractors do.  This causes his work to be more expensive when comparing to others, however we have no concerns about it shifting after seeing the process they went through and the footers that were put in under the concerte slab and pavers.  We had some issues with pooling water in our yard after the job due to the run off from the patio.  John came back to fix this and installed a drain that ties into an existing drain our yard.  We were very happy with the work and the follow up and recommend John and his team to anyone who is looking for a patio!

Patios questions, answered by experts

A Florida room is a home addition that has finished walls with windows lining the perimeter, while a screened-in porch, also known as an Arizona room, lacks windows and instead has screens to maintain constant ventilation. Florida rooms provide longer enjoyment throughout the year because they’re closed off and will naturally get heated from the sun, while a screened-in porch will just be the same temperature as the ambient air.

The cost of winterizing a screened porch can vary depending on the chosen method and the extent of the modifications required. Simple options like installing vinyl panels or using vinyl sheeting tend to be more affordable, while creating a four season room can involve higher costs due to renovation expenses. It's best to consult with professionals or obtain multiple quotes to get an accurate estimate for your specific project.

A solarium is a luxury addition to a home and can be an excellent breakfast area or reading space, but that doesn't mean there aren't disadvantages. For one, since the room is made of glass it can look dirty very quickly. Another disadvantage is solariums are notoriously hard to balance temperature and will most likely significantly increase your heating and air conditioning bill. Unlike a greenhouse addition to a house, a solarium won’t help you grow as many plants.

There are many materials to choose from, including picket fencing, wood slats, galvanized metal skirting, dog-ear fence panels, scallop wood fence panels, bamboo screens, and other decorative screens. You can search for materials at local big box stores like Home Depot or scour online home improvement sites. Good search terms to use are fencing, skirting, and privacy panels.

Yes, enclosing a patio to create a sunroom or three-season room is often a good idea that adds value to your home. This project increases your home's usable square footage and creates a versatile space for relaxing or entertaining that is filled with natural light and can be used in various weather conditions. Homeowners may see an average return on investment (ROI) of around 70%. The final value added will depend on factors such as the quality of the materials, the level of finish, and the amount of yard space that remains after the enclosure.
