"I paid Mr. Phomalee $1275 to do some bathroom remodeling work that he'd initially stated he'd be able to begin between Christmas and New Years this past December. After not showing up at that time, he proceeded to promise that work would begin on eight separate dates, missing all of them. During this time I received no communication from Mr. Phomalee unless I initiated it, and when I did he made an excuse related to his vehicle or family each time. Finally, I informed Mr. Phomalee that I needed him to return the funds paid to him as it had become clear he had no intention of doing the work for which he had been contracted. He informed me at that time that his previous excuses had been lies, that he had used the money I'd paid him for gambling, and that he most recently had not been able to due the work because he'd been trying to secure a loan to cover "the bad checks [he] had written to gamble so [he] didn't go to jail". So, I'm now in a position where I've had an unusable shower for two months, and will be forced to seek legal action against Mr. Phomalee to attempt to recover my money."

The main factor to a full lint trap is what you are drying. Clothing or textiles made of heavy natural materials, like wool sweaters or cotton towels, generally create more lint than synthetic fibers. If you wash the same type of clothes all the time and suddenly start to notice more lint, that may be a sign that your dryer vent is getting clogged and you need to call in a pro for a professional cleaning. 

Failing to open your flue can lead to serious health hazards if you start a fire because the smoke will back up into your home. Breathing fire smoke, even in relatively small quantities, is bad for human lungs, and smoke can also irritate your nasal passages and eyes. In a ventless dryer, lint it collected in a lint filter found inside the door or dryer drum. There are a few signs that tell you it's time to clean your vent. If your clothes are very hot when they come out of the dryer or it's taking longer than usual for clothes to dry, the vents need cleaning.

The ideal time for dryer vent cleaning is typically during the spring or fall. These seasons offer moderate weather conditions, making it easier to access the exterior vent and work on the dryer without the extreme heat of summer or cold of winter. However, the timing can also depend on your usage patterns. If you use your dryer heavily year-round, consider scheduling cleanings more frequently, perhaps every six months, to prevent lint buildup and reduce fire risks. Ultimately, there is no wrong time of year to prioritize safety.
