"Our bathtub was leaking and the floor was dipping. John the representative was wonderful to work with. In 2 weeks Matt the installer came out and removed our cast iron tub. He repaired the plumbing, put in a new subfloor and installed a walk in shower. He was a hard worker and answered any questions we had. Our bathroom looks beautiful! We are very happy. For floating floors, install the cabinets first and then lay the flooring up to them. Other reasons to consider installing cabinets before the flooring include saving money on materials (since you won't need flooring under the cabinets) and avoiding potential damage to your new floor during cabinet installation. Additionally, installing cabinets directly on the subfloor might prevent voiding your flooring's warranty.

Bamboo flooring has several disadvantages to consider. It is highly susceptible to moisture and humidity due to its absorbent nature, which can cause it to warp, buckle, swell, expand, or contract, potentially creating gaps in the floor. For this reason, it is best suited for dry climates. Bamboo can also scratch and dent easily. Additionally, bamboo flooring may discolor over time, especially in high-traffic areas.

A subfloor's lifespan can range from 30 years to the entire life of the house, which is often between 50 and 100 years. The actual longevity depends on the material and its protection from damage. For example, while OSB may last longer than plywood, it is not the best choice for heavy flooring like ceramic tile. The most critical factor is moisture; a subfloor that avoids water damage, mold, and termites can last for decades. However, prolonged exposure to moisture will cause it to warp, rot, or grow mold, significantly shortening its life.

Vinyl floors last between 10 and 25 years on average when you care for them and protect them against water damage, though higher-quality vinyl can last longer.
