"Very good service at a fair price. Service Manager Nick gave no pressure options for my situation. I elected for a new install which was performed within two days. Nick was very knowledgeable and responsive to my questions and concerns. Joe and Kaleb did an amazingly good job integrating the new furnace. Thrown together old systems now look like one streamlined unit. It doesn't just "work," it was put in with some craftmanship (HVAC art). Will definitely continue to use this company."

"I must apologize for the delay in submission of this report. My business and the travels it demands have commanded the majority of my attention in recent months. It is for this very reason that I use Angie's List as a guide in finding providers such as Watkins Heating and Cooling.....I can trust that they will do a great job without the need for me to be present for every project.
I shopped 3 providers rated on Angies List. I found Elliot Watkins to be a unique balance of experience, professionalism, and sincerity in his approach to business. No-nonsense, no aggressive sales tactics, and a good knack for listening to his customers.
A few weeks after meeting Elliot in our home, I called to ask a few clarifying questions and when they could perform the work. The date was established on that call. About 2 weeks later, the equipment was delivered the day before the installation was to be performed, and the 2-man crew reported early the following morning.
I was pleased with the courtesy and respect for our property displayed by the installers. Additionally, they were personable and a pleasure to work with. The job went very smooth with removal of the furnace/air handler being accomplished without a scratch to a wall. The installation of the new equipment went very well. The attention to detail with regard to wiring, refrigerant tubing runs, and other details some customers would not notice, was great to see. A follow-up call was made the following morning to be sure all was ok (which it was).
I could not have been happier with the way the installation proceeded, the professionalism of the crew, and the follow-up. One good thing about being a little tardy with my report is that I can offer a better perspective with regar to the PRODUCT.
I replaced our HVAC system pre-emptively. It was still in good working condition, but knowing its days were limited, I chose to replace it when it was convenient for me. After a full heating season, I am very pleased. Further, getting into the cooling season, I am equally as pleased with the airconditioning side of the system. This system provides a level of comfort we had not experienced in our home previously. The temperature is surprisingly consistent throughout the house and I sleep much better due to the low sound level of the air handler and the condenser outside a bedroom window. And,without a doubt, my overall energy bills have been greatly reduced. This system has given me some choice in my heating costs. Previously I was hostage to the whims of my propane gas supplier. Now, I can decide what makes sense and heat our home in the interests of my family. So...kudos to Watkins Heating and Cooling and, so far, to Trane. We could not be more pleased. With an investment this large, longevity will tell the story. I hope it proves to be as good a product in the long term as it does now.

"Just bought my home and had not turned the furnace on yet.  Robbie came out and inspected the furnace and also went over the filter system and things I need to do to keep it running at peak performance.

"The replacement of our 15 year old HVAC system went well. Pricing was competitive with others and customer service was great. There were a couple of issues we brought up regarding the installation and Elliot addressed them immediately. We are very pleased with the system installed, and will use Cincinnati Heating and Air Conditioning for service and other needs. Elliot is very honest and all involved were very courteous, especially regarding COVID 19 precautions and concerns."

Hi! I am a chemical engineer specializing in industrial utilities by trade who enjoys fixing and building things in my free time. I offer services such as furniture building, home appliance repairs (ovens, refrigerators, freezers, dishwasher, garbage disposal, washer/dryer, water heater, A/C, furnace, sump pump, etc) small scale plumbing or drainage projects/repairs (exterior storm water drainage, pvc/copper piping- I do not do cast iron, faucets, etc). I can install new appliances, but might need help lifting and setting the appliance (I do not dispose of old appliances). I also can repair kitchen stand mixers such as Kitchen aids (rebuild/regrease).

"The biggest obstacle was scheduling.  The Angie's List confirmation email did not include the instruction to schedule on the Flow-Rite web site.  It took 3 or 4 emails to clarify that which delayed getting the work scheduled.
The replacement parts worked fine with the exception of some excess plastic on the valve which prevented a tight seal and thus lead to a running toilet.  It took a few minutes with the razor blade to cut the excess off and allowed the seal to form properly.  This probably should have been done by the installer.

"Last winter our old furnace wasn't working properly. Called Hauser and they came to our house within 2 hrs as furnce not working and very cold. Heat exchanger bad in an old furnace. Got quotes on 3 different furnaces that night and it was installed the very next morning! Since installation their service has been 5 star. Highly recommend Hauser Heating & Air."

Install Boiler questions, answered by experts

Yes. In many cases, switching from an old furnace to a high-efficiency boiler can help you save money over time. You can also save money by switching from an electric boiler to a gas boiler, which costs much less compared to the energy bills an electric boil can create. Boilers are often (but not always) more efficient than furnaces, too. Then there are discounts, rebates, and incentives that can help you save on the initial costs.

Generally, an oil furnace is considered safer than a gas furnace for several reasons. While both types of furnaces can produce carbon monoxide, a leak in an oil furnace is easier to detect due to the smell. Oil furnaces also don't connect to a gas pipeline, which reduces the chance of a fuel leak. Most importantly, heating oil is not combustible, whereas natural gas is highly flammable. This means there is a much lower risk of combustion or explosion with an oil furnace. However, an oil furnace can still pose a fire hazard if it tips over.

Costs range from $3,000 to $7,500, depending on system size and efficiency.

Hydronic and standard electric baseboard heaters differ in how they operate, their cost, and their performance. Standard convection heaters use electric coils to heat the air directly, while hydronic heaters warm a contained liquid like water or oil, which then radiates heat into the room.

In terms of cost and efficiency, hydronic heaters usually have a higher upfront price but are more energy-efficient and cheaper to run over time. This is because the heated liquid retains warmth, allowing the heater to continue providing heat for a while after the thermostat turns it off. In contrast, electric heaters provide heat more quickly but are less efficient.

Ultimately, the better choice depends on your priorities. If you need a room to heat up fast and have a lower initial budget, an electric heater might be suitable. If long-term energy savings are more important and you don't mind a slower heat-up time, a hydronic heater is likely the better option.

You can replace baseboard heaters with many other types of HVAC systems, including forced-air furnaces, hydronic heating, and heat pumps. Each one has its advantages and disadvantages, so the best choice for you will depend on your budget, preferences, and the design of your house. If you aren’t sure which option is right for you, ask an HVAC pro for guidance.
