"Maxima was thorough in reviewing our needs and scheduled the work to minimize disruptions on our street. Their pricing was very competitive. The work was done in the scheduled time despite some rain delays. The crews were very coordinated, personable and respectful of residents. The completed work has received many positive comments not only from our homeowners but visitors to our community. I would certainly use Maxima again and highly recommend them to anyone wanting quality concrete work."

"Needed a waterproofing company to waterproof my damaged basement, excellent workmanship, exceeded my expectation. The workers were very polite and knowledgeable. Completed the job in one day. Removed concrete flooring, install indoor water gutters, drilled several weep holes, removed old sump basin and sump pumps, installed new equipment, they also install a rubber barrier to guide water to the gutters and placed new concrete where needed. They removed all debris, the basement looked cleaner than before they started. I was impressed with the quality and value of Ohio Basement Authorities service. I would highly recommend this company. Good price and excellent service."

"I like this company and will recommend it to others. They have a straight forward communication and finished the job quickly. The only thing could been better is to match the filled holes with exiting concrete pattern so itâ s not as noticeable."

Small jobs welcome

DAM Concrete is a new company, built off of 10+ years in the trade. I started with my families company in Toledo, OH and then I joined Local 886 as an apprentice and in 4 years I became a Foreman. I decided to move down the Columbus 3 years ago working as a supervisor for a company. I've been on all sorts of projects from residential driveways and stamped patios, to commercial warehouses and apartment building to just name a few. I've always had the goal to own my own company one day, and I'm starting to live that dream.

"Chris Ruh came to my home to look at the concrete work I thought I might need in the curb area in front of my house. Firstly, Chris is very patient and very personable. He proceeded to thoroughly examine and measure the area. He took his time to discuss how work could be done. The work would be quite an expense. Most importantly, Chris discussed with us whether the work was really needed and whether it would be worth the cost to get only a slight benefit, if any, from the work. We felt we had received excellent advice from a very experienced gentleman and decided against having the work done. But if I ever needed concrete services in the future or if friends of family needed such services, I would not turn to anyone else. I highly commend and recommend Chris Ruh for any concrete services."

"Ron, the owner gave us an estimate and called with a proposed date to complete the project.  He did not ask for any deposit and said we could pay him when we were satisfied with the job.  On the first day they removed the old patio using a bobcat with a hydraulic hammer.  I told him that I didn't want the yard damaged so he said that he would bring the bobcat in the yard only one time and he kept his word.  The bobcat didn't do any damage.  They hauled the broken concrete through the garage utility door using a wheelbarrow.. The next day they formed the new patio and verified with my wife that they design was satisfactory.  Due to the extreme heat they decided to pour the concrete the following morning to assure a quality result.  The next day they poured the concrete using wheelbarrows.  After the concrete partially dried they applied a powder and used stamp pads and formed the design in the concrete.  Stamping concrete is a very messy job and the powder is very dusty.  The following day they came back to clean and seal the stamped concrete.  I was impressed with their knowledge of the business, their attention to detail (not damaging my yard) and their willingness to work in extreme heat.  . They were also careful to clean the house, driveway and the area at the end of each day and upon completion of the job.   "

"Took all old concrete and took it to recycler. They kept me posted when weather was a problem or if they were busy. They were very easy to work with. They cleaned everything up and took care of all the plants around my house."

"I put in a paver patio too soon after my house was built and the natural settling caused it to eventually slope toward the house.  In addition, the company that originally installed it (not Fletcher's) just did a sloppy job (they are now out of business).  So Correy Fletcher rescued my porch and it now looks 100% better.  The stairs are vastly improved, my pillar is vertical and the foundation has been fixed.  Correy followed up with me to make sure the job was completed to my satisfaction.  Fletcher's doesn't use polymeric sand which I kind of wish they had; but it looks great anyway and if I end up needing to replace the sand down the road, I can always use the polymeric stuff."

Concrete Mudjacking questions, answered by experts

Yes, expanding foam (also known as polyurethane foam) can lift concrete. This approach, called polyjacking, involves injecting the foam rather than concrete slurry to fill voids and raise the concrete slab back into place. It’s often faster and requires smaller drill holes than traditional mudjacking, though it may come at a higher cost. Some contractors also prefer polyjacking over mudjacking for more damaged and delicate slabs.

Costs range from $500 to $1,500, depending on the size and condition of the area.

Trenching and boring are two distinct methods for installing underground utilities. Trenching involves digging a channel using equipment like an excavator, trencher, backhoe, or shovel. While it is a simpler process, it causes significant disruption to the surface, landscaping, and surrounding ecosystems.

Boring, also known as directional boring, is a less invasive alternative that uses a drill to create a tunnel for utility lines without disturbing the surface. This method is more precise and is ideal for installations that need to go underneath buildings, roads, or bodies of water. Although boring is less disruptive, it is generally more expensive than trenching.

Mudjacking is your best bet for leveling concrete on a tighter budget. It’s less expensive than foam or grout mixture. For smaller, surface-level issues, you could also use a self-leveling compound, which creates an even surface over existing concrete—it’s a budget-friendly option suitable for DIY enthusiasts.

A sinking foundation can be lifted, most often by installing piers to re-level and support the weight of the house. Depending on the cause and extent of the sinking, other methods to lift a foundation include underpinning and mudjacking. Consult a foundation repair pro to determine the best way to lift your sinking foundation.
