"He explained everything clearly to me. They don't clean up the mess. A simple Grease clogged drain in my basement....turned into a $350.00 bill. Less than an hour to snake a grease buildup of 6-8 feet to the main sewer. I would not recommend this company.,....for the work and dollar value. They charge a standard rate...even if it takes 5 or 15 minutes to fix....money in there pockets. For low income homes...don't go there! I think roto rooter would be alot cheaper or something else!"

In some cases, the sudden temperature change can cause more ice buildup or produce steam, which increases pressure and could cause the pipe to burst, leading to costly damage and potential burn injuries. While hot water might help with a partially frozen drainpipe, it is unlikely to thaw a completely blocked water pipe further down the system. Additionally, boiling water can damage plastic pipes over time. Safer and more effective methods include using a space heater near the frozen section or applying hot towels directly to the pipe.

If the drain is frozen, the pipes connecting to the washing machine are likely frozen. If the hot water trick doesn’t also unfreeze the washing machine pipes, you can gently apply heat with a hair dryer on the lowest setting. Start at the end of the pipe closest to the faucet to prevent pressure from building in the pipes, and make sure the faucet is open to drain the water as it melts.

You’ll need to stop or pause the machine using its control panel to start the draining process mid-cycle. Remove the items inside, turn off the power to the machine, and then follow the steps above to drain the machine manually.
