Customers say: Super punctual

"Codey and his crew showed up on time. They were friendly and respectful. The Ramsey & Family Tree Service got down to businees and removed a leaning large pine tree from going down on my neighbors house. They were professional and quick! I would highly recommend these guys to anyone!!!! I plan on having them do more work in the future. They were reasonably priced too! Stevie Callahan"

"My landscapers told me Stump Grinding Services was the best business in the area for tree/bush removal and stump grinding. They were right. They arrived on time, cleaned up after they finished their work and did exactly what we asked of them, which was removing numerous overgrown bushes as well as a tree and several pre-existing tree stumps. Some companies just grind out the top of a stump but tell the homeowner they removed everything. This leaves the homeowner with a future sprouting, mess of roots all over their plant beds. You can trust Stump Grinding Services to do it the right way."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Any tree that needs to be pruned should be pruned to remove dead branches at least once a year. You may need to prune far more often if you’re trying to maintain a certain shape or to save a tree that suddenly becomes infected.

If you don’t cut down a dead, dying, or diseased tree, it can become a nesting place for pests like mosquitos, bees, beetles, wasps, fly larvae, and more. Some pests will live in the tree, while others will feed off the decaying wood. Unhealthy trees are also more likely to fall over, potentially injuring people and causing damage to your property.

The best tools for tree removal include a chainsaw for large trees, an ax for notching and cutting down small trees, and a wedge to help control the direction a tree falls in. A hatchet can be useful for very small trees, but won’t be effective for medium to large trees.

Cutting down a dead tree is always strongly advisable. Aside from being an eyesore, a dead tree can be extremely hazardous, especially when it’s near people or structures. Even if the tree isn’t near your home, it can still harbor pests and diseases that can potentially spread to nearby plants and homes.

While trees can grow in the curb strip between the sidewalk and the street, this placement often poses the problem of interfering with overhead power lines. It’s best to consult your local utility provider and tree planting service before transplanting a tree that might grow into power lines. Also, you should never work within 20 feet of a live power line to avoid the risk of electric shock. Tree branches should never touch nearby power lines, so it’s essential to ensure your tree isn’t in danger of growing too close to them.
