"Premier Granite did a remarkable job. Their customer service and quality of work was exceptionable. We had a complex layout and researched/reviewed with numerous granite contractors and Premier not only came back with the best plan, but delivered in every aspect from a quality, scheduling and workmanship standpoint. The even came back to replace a section of backsplash which they were not pleased with, but looked perfectly fine as initially installed. I would not use anyone other than Premier if installing granite in the future."

Tile shouldn’t be set tight against the tub. Bathtubs can expand when filled, and they can shift slightly with the weight of occupants. Pebbles are a great non-slip option, but are pricey and tricky to install. Glass might look modern, but it’s not scratch-resistant. Small, floor-rated ceramic or porcelain tiles are economical and have many grout lines that make the surface more slip-resistant. Pick a matte finish rather than a shiny tile if you want it to hide stray mud and hairs better.

When working on your bathroom floor tiling, you should always tile the floor first and then refit the toilet afterward. This has both practical and visual advantages—the tile will have a better seal, and the installation will look cleaner.

On the other hand, when you try to cut the tiles to fit around the toilet, you’re putting yourself at a disadvantage. It’s a lot more work, it’s hard to be precise, and mistakes or miscalculations can lead to future moisture damage to the tiling, grout, and subfloor.
