"We love our cabinets! They look fantastic while remaining affordable. The friendly staff at AWD helped us from start to finish. They are very knowledgeable and gave us advice and tips when needed. They were receptive and patient with our ever-changing needs. Once we finalized our purchase, we received our cabinets within two weeks! The cabinets are very sturdy and the color is beautiful. The hinges and hardware are high quality. We are extremely pleased with AWD and would recommend them to any friends or family looking for good cabinets at a fair price."

"I've never had a cleaner house. I was amazed how the floors were scrubbed clean, the kitchen spotless (I'm hesitant to use it now!), and the bathrooms are great. They cleaned behind everything, moved everything, swept very thoroughly and were very professional. I will be recommending them to my friends too.
The only glitch was a mixup on dates. Be sure to get them to text you the date you agree on.

"Pat was professional and thorough in the job. The bathrooms were done one at a time, so that one was always available to us. She came up with creative ideas for colors and materials that makes the bathrooms in our 40-year-old house look fresh and up-to-date. She made our small shower stall twice its size, even adding a bench at the back! The contractors were polite, efficient, and respectful. Pat was easy to reach or quick to return our call when we needed to ask a question, or tell her that we had changed our mind or had decided to add something else to the job."

"I liked the girls. They did a very nice job. However jewelry was missing from the house. I filed a police report, but in reality, a cable installer had been in the house right before them and I went to an overnight weekend in a private house that weekend and took my jewelry case, so I don't really know who took the jewelry. I never contacted the company."

"I was very excited to see their Big Deal offer of a bathroom remodel. I planned to redo my main bathroom this year, and the timing seemed perfect.  Reviews of their work were good (although mostly for much smaller projects than an entire remodel), so I thought it was time to go ahead with my project.   I left two messages, and one email via their website. I had questions about their advertised Big Deal, and I think it is unreasonable to expect people to spend nearly $5,000 without some kind of contact first. Unfortunately, I didn't hear from them until nearly 3 weeks later.

However, Justin did eventually call me, and we talked candidly about the initial lack of response.  I was impressed by his honesty and commitment to improve upon our communication.  I asked if he would be willing to still come out and give me a quote on the project, knowing that in my mind, his company had one strike against it already.  His dedication to wanting to do a good job is commendable.  I have decided to meet with him and give J. Rush Home Improvement the opportunity to bid on the bathroom remodel."

Closets questions, answered by experts

When storing your clothes long-term, first consider the container's breathability. While plastic bags, cardboard boxes, or vacuum sealing may be great options for short-term storage, they won’t help your clothes hold up in the long term. Breathable plastic boxes and fabric bags help with airflow, prevent mold or mildew from building up, and allow proper airflow.

DIY is possible for basic designs. Professional services ensure proper construction and space optimization.

Plywood, MDF (medium-density fiberboard), and solid wood are all popular options for closet shelving. Plywood and solid wood are sturdy and ideal for extended shelves or heavy items. MDF is a budget-friendly choice for light to moderate storage, but it can sag under heavy weight if not adequately supported. Wire shelving is another alternative that allows airflow, making it especially useful in humid spaces such as laundry rooms or basements.

The differences between a built-in closet and a walk-in aren’t that different from a built-in wardrobe and a walk-in closet. It’s fairly simple—a walk-in closet is a closet you can physically enter, stand in, and walk around in. A built-in (whether wardrobe or closet) is more akin to covered shelves installed into a recess in the wall. Another big difference is walk-in closets almost always have traditional full-size doors, while built-ins either have no doors or use sliding doors.

If you’re on a tight budget, the least expensive material you can buy for DIY closet shelves is chipboard, a.k.a. particle board. This inexpensive material is made from a pulp of sawdust, resin, and glue that’s pressed together under high temperature and pressure. As you can imagine, it’s not very sturdy and might buckle under your blue jean collection, so you should only use it if you’re storing very light items.
