"Wonderful. They handled everything with regard to getting the permit and approvals. Did a wonderful job. I was particularly impressed with how they designed fence to actually use the bark of a tree that was on the fence line as part of the fence to create a seamless view. Highly recommended."

"Lance and his company was most professional and courteous before we even committed to an install. Once we scheduled an install, it was well executed and looked and worked great. Training was done by a superb trainer that our dog took to immediately. You can tell they care about their profession as well as the animal. A year later, damage was done by a third party. Lance himself showed up promptly on a holiday weekend to fix the fence and save our weekend. I can't recommend Lance's Hidden Fencing enough. A+ job."

"Fence-N-Deck Doctor’s has ended up being the best company that I have ever used for work done for my home. The company is owned by a husband and wife and they are extremely helpful with any questions or concerns I had. The price was extremely fair compared to other “big” fence companies. The work was done in 2 days, and I have a very big backyard that needed to be done. They removed the old fence I had up and put up a beautiful 6 ft privacy fence. I couldn’t be happier with the work that they and their team did. They even came back out after it was put up to make sure I was happy with the results. I recently also had a branch fall on the fence that they put up, and they came back out the same week and fixed the damage done. Would recommend 10/10 to anyone thinking or needing a new fence put up!!! The fence is gorgeous and they have put together an outstanding company."

"It was very important to repair the fence to its previous strength as we have dogs and were concerned about any of them getting out. Jeff was the lowest bid on the job and was the most professional from the first time we met him. He took care not to damage any existing flowers and shrubs that we planted at the side that was most heavily damaged. He did a great job and I couldn't ask more concerning the quality of his work. I would definitely recommend him to anyone needing a new fence or repair."

Fencing questions, answered by experts

In most cases, trees need to be protected from deer all year round. This is especially true if you want to protect small trees from deer or if you just planted some fresh, new trees. Once a tree is a few years old, you likely do not have to worry about protecting it from deer as it will be stronger and can handle a little damage.

The thickness of a glass fence varies widely based on its application and whether or not there are any safety requirements, but most fences are between 8 millimeters and 12 millimeters thick. 12-millimeter-thick glass is extremely strong and overkill in most cases, which is why you typically only see it around pools and in skyscrapers.

The cost to build a fence is about $3,100 on average, but you could pay anywhere from $400 to $13,700 or more. Your cost will depend on the length, height, and materials for the fence. If you hire a professional installer, labor costs typically represent about half of the total cost of the project. This means you potentially can save quite a bit of money doing the work yourself.

When deciding between fence post foam and concrete, the best choice depends on your specific needs and priorities. Concrete is generally considered stronger and more durable, making it the preferred option for heavy, load-bearing posts. However, expanding foam offers several advantages, such as being more eco-friendly and curing much faster. For smaller fences or those made with lighter materials like vinyl or wire mesh, post foam is a good alternative. While concrete is more affordable, it is also harder to work with and has a longer curing time.

Green branches are more flexible and easier to work with, but they'll shrink as they dry, which can loosen your fence weave over time—so you'll need to weave them extra tight to account for shrinkage. Some species, particularly willow, may also try to sprout when used green. For these reasons, it’s typically easiest to use branches that have dried for a week or two.
