"Louis responded promptly to my message to have a tree trimmed and a large lilac bush removed. He gave me a quote for half of what another company quoted .He came the following week as promised and did an excellent job. He cleaned up the yard and hauled everything away.I would definitely hire him again and highly recommend him"

"I will never use another tree service! We had our tree trimmed and lots of shrubs removed from along our drive way. This company also removed a jungle from our back yard and replaced it with the most beautiful fire pit. We are beyond happy with the work that was done and all for a reasonable price. I highly recommend using S.O.S. for your yard needs."

"I inherited my brother’s house when he passed in 2020. I had many shrubs that needed pruned badly. Nic came and walked the property with me, and advised how much they should be cut back. They arrived on time, and the crew were awesome !!! I would highly recommend them. Thanks, guys, for the great job :-)"

Arborists questions, answered by experts

There are a few instances in which removing a tree is the best option. You might do this if the tree looks to be a major danger—potentially falling onto your home, your car, or other parts of your property—or it’s diseased beyond repair. A tree that is growing too close to your house might need to be removed to prevent mold growth.

Dutch elm disease can’t harm humans. In fact, according to Cal Fire, bark beetles aren’t even typically dangerous to trees unless that tree is already weakened. The problem comes when Dutch elm disease kills a tree. That tree is more at risk of falling and catching fire, which can pose a serious threat.

If you aren’t sure what you’re doing, be very careful when cutting mature tree roots (roots larger than 2 inches). Root cutting and pruning can affect both a tree’s stability and its ability to nourish itself. Issues during root cutting can result in damage or injury.

It’s recommended you call in a pro to help, unless it’s a very small tree and you aren’t worried about the prospect of losing the tree.

Professionals use assessments, strategic cuts, specialized equipment, and safety measures to ensure healthy growth or the safe removal of trees or shrubs.

It may be possible, but transplanting a large, mature tree can be a tricky project, and some trees handle it better than others. If you have a tree you need to save and are considering transplanting it elsewhere, we highly suggest calling a tree removal service and arranging a consultation to see what they say (and how much a full transplant would cost).
