"George came out this morning to give us an estimate on removal of a large tree (and smaller tree nearby) which came down in a storm and also removal of a lot of honeysuckle in our wooded lot. His price estimates on the 2 projects were very reasonable and he said that he could do the tree removal today. He also recommended that we wait until Spring for the honeysuckle removal so that it would turn green and we wouldn't run the risk of taking out too much and losing privacy. We felt that this was a great idea and appreciated his advice. George and his crew did a great job with the tree removal and we also appreciated how careful they were in transporting the logs across our lawn to avoid any damage. We will definitely have George and his crew back in the Spring to remove the honeysuckle and will be contacting him for all of our future tree work."

"From start to finish, Leaf It To Us' service was great! Anthony and Lindsey came out to our house within about an hour of requesting a quote for the removal of three very tall trees. One of the trees was particularly precarious (close to our fence and on a slope toward a stream). Within a few days, the job was completed flawlessly and at a fair price. Cleanup was meticulous. Highly recommend!"

"I did my work so you don't have to. I had 6 estimates to remove my very large tree. Keeping it green came through with flying colors. They did an amazing job. Very organized and spent more time cleaning than cutting down the tree. I was amazed at how fast the tree came down. They left my front yard cleaner than it was before they came and had all the proper equipment to do a fast, efficient, amazing job. Don't look any further. Call Aaron. He will get the job done and leave you grinning from ear to ear."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Unfortunately, most of the time you’re out of luck if a neighbor’s tree blocks your view. You don’t have a right to a view, so if you have a tree that’s near the property line but on your neighbor’s property, you can’t cut it to be able to take in a majestic mountain or a beautiful sunrise. In some communities, however, there are ordinances protecting scenic views. Checking into your local laws can help you determine your rights in this situation.

It can be bad to leave a dead stump in the ground. A stump becomes a hefty piece of dead wood in time and eventually (especially with the help of rain) starts to rot. That makes it a locus point for diseases and pesky insects, as well as a bit of an eyesore. It’s best to remove a tree stump completely before it starts to decay, especially before it starts to fall apart. If the tree was removed because of disease, it’s even more important to fully remove the stump if possible.

Pruning trees is important for several reasons. It improves tree health and strength by removing dead, diseased, or unwanted branches, which in turn encourages new growth and can help treat disease. For fruit trees, proper pruning can lead to a larger and better-quality harvest. Pruning also enhances safety by removing weak limbs that could break and fall, potentially causing injury or property damage, especially during storms. Beyond these functional benefits, pruning can also improve a tree's appearance. To ensure pruning is done correctly for the tree's long-term health, consider hiring a professional.

Planting trees far enough from your foundation will protect your home from root damage, but if you’re dealing with existing trees, you can still guard against roots. Root barriers form a physical boundary that will prevent roots from encroaching on your foundation and can help save you from expensive foundation repair costs.

While trees can grow in the curb strip between the sidewalk and the street, this placement often poses the problem of interfering with overhead power lines. It’s best to consult your local utility provider and tree planting service before transplanting a tree that might grow into power lines. Also, you should never work within 20 feet of a live power line to avoid the risk of electric shock. Tree branches should never touch nearby power lines, so it’s essential to ensure your tree isn’t in danger of growing too close to them.
