"The additional tree the member wanted pruned was not on the estimate and was on the opposite side of the house from the 3 trees we pruned. I returned to the house and provided an estimate by email (member wasn't home at the time). I spoke with him regarding the work and he seemed satisfied. Our crews are instructed to not perform additional sevrvices beyond the estimate without management approval."
"This member continues to be a great client for our company. She clearly communicates what she needs done, is always friendly and great to work with."
"Great client. We really enjoyed working with this member and look forward to continuing to meet her tree care needs."
"Client was friendly and great to work with. He had a very hazardous tree and we were glad to be able to take care of it for him."
"Great client. She asked a lot of great questions and really showed she cared for her trees. We look forward to taking care of her trees for years to come."
"Very nice client. He has used our company several times. We enjoy working with him."
When it came time to remove the tree, he showed the same attentiveness. He is very personable yet unquestionably professional.
His first 60' bucket crew arrived to remove what they could given the tree's location, elevation, and height. He had phoned and informed when they were coming. They removed over half the limbs taking away about 32 cubic yards of chips.
With the unpredictable weather, the next visit with a crane had to be rescheduled. I was not there to start the day, but the neighbors, who they had to ask to move cars, said they were polite and 'got right to work'.
They again removed about 32 cubic yard of chips and crane-lifted and loaded about 40' of immense tree trunk varying from 5' to 3' in diameter.
Even when most of the work was being done by the climbers and crane, his ground crew did not stand idly--they were either cleaning up debris or prepping for the next step.
Todd demonstrates a great trust in his men and they seemed to have earned it. As the job progressed, heavy equipment had to moved, debris dumped, tools and equipment prepared...they showed complete confidence and competence in completing the task at hand.
"The client was a pleasure to work with. He clearly explained his concerns and ask questions as to how the work would be completed. He placed out several cones the night before to ensure we had adequate working room on the street. The job went very well and he promptly paid his bill. It was a great experience for our company to work with such friendly clients. We look forward to meeting all of their tree care needs in the future."
"I met with the homeowner and provided him with a price to remove the trees and dispose of all the wood and debris. The homeowner asked me how he could get the 2 trees down for the least amount of money. I explained to him the price could be significantly reduced if we did not dispose of the wood and debris. He told me that was not a problem and I explained what we would do. We showed up on the agreed date and cut both trees down. I followed up a few days later and he let me know he was unhappy because some of the branches were against his fence (the yard was a steep slope). I went to the job and with a small handsaw cut several smaller branches so they were not against the fence (the fence was not damaged in any way). I followed up again and was told the 6' lengths we had agreed upon (listed on the estimate) were too big and they needed to be cut smaller. I sent a crew back out and had them cut smaller. The homeowner told the crew they needed to move/stack the wood (not part of our estimate). The crew contacted me and I told them to do it to please the client. At this point it had been 10 days since we had completed our original agreement and the client still had not paid. Our office tried to contact the client several times for payment and they would not respond. After 10 weeks I contacted the homeowner directly on his cell phone and he indicated he wanted a discount. We went over our estimate and he agreed we had fulfilled (and exceeded) our agreement. He insisted we give him a discount because the wood and debris it had been hard for him to clean up (this was explained at the time of the estimate). Realizing the only way he was going to pay the bill was if I reduced the price I did so. We did exactly what we agreed to do. I informed the client when I gave the original estimate, without a crane there would be turf damage (the trees were very large and very dead). The client told me the price was his greatest concern and not the turf. Now we are left with an inaccurate and disparaging review on Angie's List despite the fact we fulfilled our agreement, did additional work for free and then reduced the price even further."
