"We had a appointment scheduled for 4/25 that was rescheduled to Saturday 4/28 1 PM. The older gentleman that showed up wrote nothing down. We wrote down what we remember of the quote which appears to be high after some investigation. We wanted to send our summary of the quote to our sales rep with some modifications only to find we have no email address. Our quote 3 master bath room windows. 1 slider temp class, 1 double casement temp class, 1 have circle - $3000! $1000 per window! 1 master bed room slider 1 bath room casement temp class 2 front bed room double casement 1 back bed slider 1 lower office double casement 2 kitchen slider 1 laundry room slider 1 door wall -$1633 15 windows and 1 door wall – $10,705"

"A wonderful experience all around! We had 15 windows and a sliding glass door replaced. Our Salesperson, Harlan, was very professional and explained the benefits of the new windows and all about Power as a company. The installers arrived on time and completed the entire job in a day! Everything was installed perfectly and the crew was courteous and cleaned up after themselves. Erin came to visit the next day to make sure everything was up to their standards and addressed any questions we had. Most certainly the best experience we've ever had with a home contractor. Highly Recommend!"

"We highly recommend Home Pro Windows Siding & Doors! They replaced the front exterior facade of our house. Replacing our aging cedar siding with HARDIEPLANK. The work was high quality, on budget and even finished ahead of schedule. The crew was friendly and cleaned up after themselves too. Excellent customer service and the house looks great. We received four quotes from different construction companies and are so glad we chose Home Pro Windows Siding & Doors for the job. Home Pro will definitely be asked to do more work for us in the future."

Window Door Contractors questions, answered by experts

The screen on many screen doors is held in place by screen spline. Screen spline is typically a thin vinyl tubing that fits into the groove of the door’s frame and holds the screen in place. To install the spline on a screen door, you’ll need a spline roller—a tool that presses the spline and screen into the door’s narrow groove. Note that old spline can crack and break, so replacing your screens is a good time to replace the spline, too.

Professionals ensure repairs not only fix current problems but also prevent future issues, improving efficiency and aesthetics.

The steps to replace a retractable screen can vary, but these are the general steps: First, remove the screen cover to expose the screen mechanism and remove the clip that holds the screen in place. Next, depress the end of the screen mechanism so it releases from the door frame. Take your new screen and fit one end into the frame. You may need to rotate the mechanism to engage the spring before inserting the other end into the frame. Finally, pull the screen down the length of the door’s opening and lock it in place with the clip.

Window screens can help keep some heat out of your home, which is one benefit of using them in summer. It’s also the reason experts suggest removing your screens in winter—so it’s easier for the sun’s warmth to filter into your home. This will keep you cozier and potentially reduce your heating bills.

There are many ways to customize screens, including customizing frame colors and mesh styles to complement your home’s aesthetic.
