"Really well. We needed a half split system as we have a 100 + year old house with a boiler and required air conditioning for health reasons. We didn’t want to have to deal with window air conditioners or removing the boiler system to replace with a forced air system; the half split was the best choice. Sal’s had the most reasonable bid and was very prompt in scheduling and installing. Every person we dealt with from Sal’s was professional, kind and had wonderful senses of humor. Grade A+ all around."

"we were provided with different price options. no detailed explantation of difference of the price options and systems were offered. we picked out a price in the range we were considering. no literature or written proposal were offered. i had to call the office later to find out the model of the furnace and a/c unit we would be buying. after checking the model out on the manufacturers website, i found it to be a single stage furnace and a/c unit. we were able to buy a two stage system for only a few hundred dollars more from a competitor."

"We got an estimate from a Cleveland company to replace boiler for 1200 lower apartment. ($9600) Wow! Gorjanc was our second opinion since I assumed that as “boiler experts”, they would be much more. They installed for $8,000. Saved us $1,600. The install, of course, is perfect! John Gorjanc, owner, knows his business!!!"

"Excellent Service...Ryan and his team came out and gave an estimate within 24 hours of us contacting him and had the new Carrier 120k BTU dual stage furnace and April whole house humidifier installed 3 days later. Communication was great, super competitive pricing, didn't oversell or try to add on long term service contracts. Ryan and crew arrived on time at 7:30am the day of install, completed the work as planned, layed cloths on areas they were waking and clean-up when done. Awesome service and a great price....would recommend to anyone in the area."

"fVince at Apple Heating was great to work with from beginning to end.  He helped up pick out what we needed for our home without trying to sell us more than what was necessary, and explained everything every step of the way.  Even though installation day was horrible weather-wise (huge snowstorm), they were still able to get quite a crew out to disassemble 2 extremely large furnaces and install the new one within the expected/quoted time-frame.  Each person that came to work on the installation was professional, answered all questions and made sure we understood every aspect of what was going on and what was still going to be done.  I would hire Apple Heating again in a heartbeat (except I don't expect the brand new furnace to go out anytime soon)."

"We were very pleased from the beginning presentation to the gas line install and all the way through to the furnace and air conditioning install. This was all accomplished during the very cold and snowy weather. The owner even called me on his vacation to ensure that everything was going according to our expectations. My wife and I would strongly recommend this company.

Install Boiler questions, answered by experts

Costs depend on issue severity, parts needed, and labor rates.

Chilled water HVAC systems use water instead of traditional components and refrigerants. They're more common in commercial settings than residential ones but are slowly being adopted by some homebuilders to cool homes. As the name implies, the system keeps the water chilled at 40 degrees and circulates it through water coils. The water absorbs the heat from your home and drains outdoors. Condo apartments are more likely to have chilled water HVAC than single-family homes because this system is designed to cool several rooms or large areas individually.

Oil boilers provide reliable heating, efficiency, and long-term cost savings compared to electric options.

The average cost to replace or install a new HVAC system is around $7,500. However, the price can range from $5,000 to $12,500, depending on factors like the size of your home, the type and brand of the unit, and your specific heating and cooling needs. If you only need to replace certain components, the cost will be lower; for example, a new AC unit can cost between $2,200 and $5,500, while a new furnace costs $3,200 to $6,000. If additional work like new ductwork is required, the total cost could be as high as $22,000. It's best to contact a local HVAC company for an accurate quote.

The cost-efficiency of baseboard heaters depends on the type and how you use them. Generally, standard electric baseboard heaters can be expensive to run because they use electric resistance heating, which is less energy-efficient than systems like forced-air or heat pumps. However, hydronic and gas versions are typically much cheaper to operate. Hydronic models are more energy-efficient because they heat a liquid that retains warmth longer, preventing the thermostat from turning on and off as often. The overall running cost is also influenced by local electricity rates, your home's insulation, and your usage habits. To increase efficiency, you can use baseboard heaters for zoning, meaning you only heat the specific rooms you are using.
