" Quality DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY. Sometimes reviews are all consumers have to go on. We moved to Cincinnati in the chaos of covid and needed a reliable company. With the start of new job and 3 kids starting school, we needed a professional to make sure our family was moving into a safe environment. We found this company to be dishonest and it costs us thousands of dollars! Brian Recher was our inspector. Missed very obvious problems we were only aware of after we bought the house. We had to hire another home inspector after we bought the house because of all the things missed. That inspector (who was amazing and less expensive so do your research) agreed that these things should have been caught by a professional credible inspector/company. We even had Brian back to our house to show him what he missed so things could be made right. He refused to even set foot back in the attic (only 1 of the pricey issues). He said, "That is why I have insurance..for instances like this". He even asks what it would cost to make the repairs (had no idea at the time). They consulted a lawyer instead and I just got a letter saying they aren't liable. Mold, rodents, leaks....the list goes on. We had to hire an environmental hygienist and a mitigation company. Now we have to get lawyers involved. He even had an inspection report the sellers had done prior to the house being on the market. We assumed everything was fixed. Why was I (a novice in the field) able to find leaks, mold, and a hole going into our attic (infestation) days after we moved in?! Heck, after starting to get suspicious I crawled in the attic myself and found old and new nests. Buyer beware! This could costs you $$$ if you go with the wrong company!"

"Cincinnati OH Gary Otten's incompetence cost me the sale of my house. The house is being sold "As Is" for cosmetic repairs. He told the buyer the foundation was continuing to move & The Basement Doctors did not use peers in the repairs. I have proof (including pictures)that is not true with documentation from The Basement Doctors. The cracks are still there because that is part of the cosmetic repair needed to be done when painting. Gary Otten also reported that the SEPTIC needed to be inspected. We have CITY SEWER-NOT SEPTIC. Gary couldn't fit through the hole into the crawl space yet could see (psychically?) that the sump pump was full of water. You can't see the sump pump from the entry hole! This last part is sad because Gary said the hot water heater wasn't working. WE TURNED OFF THE HOT WATER HEATER BECAUSE NO ONE LIVES THERE CURRENTLY. Gary obviously doesn't know where the ON/OFF switch is on a hot water heater."

2 EMPLYOEES. SUB CONTRACTORS FOR RADON AND COMMERCIAL. TRAVEL CHARGES MAY APPLY. COST IS DETERMINED BY JOB. KENTUCKY LICENSE HI2044, 686. OH LICENSE 1906. INDIANA LICENSE HI0600006.
"Alex Lockstead of Eaton Inspections came highly recommended from a family friend and proved to be the best professional decision we made in our home buying process. Alex is extremely responsive and easy to work with, but more importantly he is incredibly meticulous and skilled at his craft. The quality, thoroughness, and detail of his inspection and corresponding documentation was absolutely astounding. We inspected two different homes with Alex, and both realtors commented to us how markedly better Alex's work and process was than others they regularly work with in their careers. The peace of mind afforded with Alex is worth every cent. He saved us from buying what would have been a financial nightmare of a home. When we found our second home during the Covid pandemic, we knew we wanted no one but Alex to inspect it, and literally wrote our inspection period terms around his schedule. Alex worked with us to safely inspect it and was extremely respectful and sensitive of the homeowner's safety and comfort. Alex delivered his impeccably detailed report and made time to host a debrief call and was available with follow up calls and texts as needed to help us assess our home. You can't put a price on having someone you can trust as you make the biggest financial decision of your life, but you can choose Alex at Eaton Inspections and that is pretty darn close!"

Home Inspection Company servicing all of the Greater Cincinnati Area. ASHI Certified. Indoor Air Quality Certified. WDI (Termite) inspections.
"Very thorough inspection, very well documented with photo illustrations and references to Standards as applicable, communicated verbally and explained thoroughly. Michael found 'defects' that were not visible to the naked eye as he also used a thermal imaging camera. With the thermal imaging camera he found a sump pump issue, that he (or his peers) , he contacted during the inspection) had never experienced before."

If radon is present in your home, you can expect to pay around $1,000 for a radon mitigation system or between $780 and $1,250 in most cases. The exact price will depend on the severity of the radon leak, home size, and the protocol the radon specialist develops to remove radon from your home and keep it out. Your foundation type will also affect your radon mitigation system cost, as unfinished basements will cost about $4,600 to seal and ventilate, while crawl spaces without a foundation slab may need extra encapsulation, costing $1,500 to $15,000.
You can buy DIY radon test kits from a home improvement store and conduct radon testing, but these tests are often inaccurate. No matter the result, you should supplement DIY testing with professional radon detection and analysis. DIYers only have access to passive radon tests, which aren’t as reliable as active tests that professionals use. Plus, it’s very easy for DIYers to make mistakes during testing, leading to inaccurate results. If you’re moving into a new home, have concerns about radon, or are due for an updated test, hire a professional.
Radon testing costs depend on whether you hire a professional radon inspector or DIY test. You can expect to pay $150 to $800 to hire a local radon inspector, and home-testing kits range in price from $15 to $250 from home improvement stores. However, it’s best to trust a professional inspector with this task to ensure accurate results. Plus, if you have radon in your home, your testing company can develop a mitigation protocol to keep you and your family safe from the dangerous gas, so it’s well worth the money to hire a professional.
Yes, radon testing is absolutely necessary if you suspect the presence of this hazardous gas, and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recommends testing for all homes in the country. Radon is a pervasive natural gas that can leak through your home’s foundation and seep into the living areas. Unfortunately, the gas is highly carcinogenic and is the second leading cause of lung cancer. Radon testing is crucial for keeping you and your family safe from harm, so hire a radon mitigation specialist to test your home if you suspect its presence in your home.
In most states, radon testing companies don’t need to be licensed or certified by the state, but the companies that analyze the test results and develop radon mitigation protocols do. You should choose a radon testing company that suits your needs, but before hiring a mitigation specialist, check our state licensing tool to make sure the company is properly certified.
