I selected Chris Green, an Independent Home Inspector, from the top of Angie's List. With Chris Green's many years in home building, home inspection experience, extensive knowledge, awards, as well as leadership positions he has held in his profession, he was my Home Inspector choice. Chris was helpful and informative when I asked questions, and I learned from his explanations he shared. He also provided a Federally Certified Radon Inspector to test my home when I asked for radon levels to be detected arising from the soil beneath the home. Soon after, I hired a radon mitigation company to install a system to bring the levels down to a safe number within my home. Chris also inspects homes, as they are being built, which are the ideal times for an inspection, (when requested by the homeowner). Thank you, Chris Green ("Inspector C.H.R.I.S.")

Chris was very professional and punctual but he also had a helper with him whom I'm not quite sure now he knew what he was doing. Once I moved into the home, I found 5 wall outlets so far that do not work and two windows that broke when I opened them. I specifically asked the helper how the windows looked and he said good but he was clearly not checking all the windows and outlets or this stuff would have been caught. I haven't opened anymore windows yet to see if there are more for fear of breaking them. For the almost $800 I paid for the inspection, I would have expected these simple issues to be documented on the report so I could of had the seller fix them. I'm frustrated because now all of this cost is on me and when I emailed Chris to ask for a partial refund due to this being missed, he was not responsive to my request.

I went through your report and some windows were not tested due to items blocking access. All receptacles worked at the time of the inspection, some receptacles are on a switch meaning the switch has to be in the on position to work."

Extremely POOR. CLOSE TO 500.00 DOLLARS WAS PAID for an inspection that took around ONE HOUR! Most of which I was being told over and over about the “Bad” wiring in the home. And the rest of the time someone else walked the home taking notes to put in the nice $500. book they sent me. There was multiple issues with the home that should have been seen by this company AND reported to us. Not one was noted! Had the job I PAID FOR BEEN DONE, IT MOST DEFINITELY WOULD HAVE PLAYED A PART IN THE DECISION TO PURCHASE THE HOME!!!

"Thanks for the bad review. Please tell me what was missed. BTW the inspection took almost 2 hours with 2 inspectors. Beside the fact that the house had over 50 defects from multiple layers of shingles to clogged gutters with standing water no drip edge, no ice guard, cracks in the driveway, front porch, patio, fence gate didn't work and was broken, weather stripping missing on garage door, several locks were broken and inoperable, termite damages to the structure, Service entrance wire not properly clamped and was damaged, the ground rod was a trip hazard, aluminum wiring throughout the house, several receptacles had reverse polarity, ungrounded receptacles, missing GFCI receptacles throughout the house, improper smoke detectors, and smoke detectors missing to name a few items that were reported in your inspection. This does not include everything in the inspection. Please tell me what was missed, this is the first i have heard about anything on your property. You have not called the company to discuss any of these so called missed items and it would have changed your mind on the purchase of the property. SO please explain your issues. Thank you and have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year."

I"m a first time Home buyer that's been looking for a house and I finally got to the point where i needed to get a home inspection. I chose this company honestly because it was the company i could find the most information about. There's not a whole lot regulating home inspectors and pretty much anyone can be one with little to no education. So I called and asked for costs for the things that were most important to me. Things like air quality and radon testing cost extra. I did ask about using camera's to look in the walls to make sure there was nothing alarming or wrong in there and Chris said they did those things and were part of the inspection on the phone but when i got to the inspection Tony said they did not do those things which was disappointing. I was also expecting Chris to be there and was a bit alarmed when he didn't show up but instead Tony did. Tony was great though and answered all the questions i could think of. Since i had looked them up before hand on their website i expected a pretty lengthy report and that's what i got. It was very thorough and gave me the information i needed to make a decision. I'm passing on this house because so many things need to be fixed and some of them will probably be ongoing. As expensive as a home inspection is it saved me thousands in needed repairs. So the search to find a house continues.... Hopefully though the next house i find will be the one.

Excellent report that helped me decide I either needed to negotiate price down further with seller (which was not possible) or terminate purchase contract during inspection period (which I did and am receiving my earnest money back).

I am a first time home buyer, and I knew nothing about home inspections. It seems to be a pretty open field, where almost anyone can claim to be an "inspector". I had no idea of where to even begin to search for someone to inspect what I assume will be the biggest purchase of my life. That search led me here, and ultimately to hire Inspector Chris, based upon his reviews. I am extremely grateful that I did. He arrived at the house earlier than our appointment time, and was already at work assessing the exterior of the house, even though I was 15 minutes early. His assistant was in the driveway, also already working. I was impressed before I even had a chance to meet him! He was extremely professional, and his knowledge and insights about home construction were invaluable. He was able to point out things I would have noticed. Even more beneficial though, was his knowledge of current building codes, and his ability to explain what exactly would need to be done to make the proper repairs. Based upon his expertise, I was able to avoid what could have been a very serious, very costly mistake. My home search continued, and upon deciding upon another property, my first call was to Inspector Chris. Like before, they were already there upon my arrival. This time, however, it was Inspector Tony doing the inspection. I was alarmed at first, as I had not been told that Chris would not be present during the inspection. But my fears were soon alleviated as I watched Tony scramble up a pretty severely pitched roof to check the roof vents and chimney. He was also extremely thorough and knowledgeable. What I appreciated the most was his no rush approach. He was completely at ease with me stopping him and asking "hey, this thing over here looks weird, what do you think?", or just a ton of me saying "I dunno, does this look right to you?" If the roles were reversed, I know I just don't possess the kind of patience that he demonstrated to me that day. It was clear that his top priority was that all my concerns and questions were answered. I was equally impressed by his inspection, and based upon my experience with this company, I am now in the process of closing upon my first home. The reports that they prepare are top notch and include incredible detail and information. Everything from the roof to the basement floor is covered, right down to the model numbers on every appliance. I even received a bound hard copy of the report in the mail. I am so grateful that I was able to find Inspector Chris and his team, and I cannot recommend them enough!

This was the second time my wife and I hired Chris to do a home inspection. The first time was this past summer and because we added the air quality test, we found out the house was filled with mold, so we were able to withdraw our offer and avoid a lot of issues. The second time was a better experience as the house had few issues and the job was done just as thoroughly. He was early to the appointment and answered all of our questions.
