"We worked with John Desborough (Desborough Construction) to finish our basement, including building a custom wood bar with plumbing and cabinetry, a matching wooded booth, and a half bathroom. This was a big project and it was important to us that the work was done right, so we interviewed three contractors. John stood apart from the competition. He spent a significant amount of time speaking with us to understand our goals, and offered suggestions and advice on how to accomplish our vision and improve our design. John’s proposal contained significant detail compared to others. We selected him because it was clear that John understood our goals and was capable of getting the work done right and within budget. We understood exactly what was included in the scope of work and knew there would be no surprises. John did a great job of communicating throughout the project and there were no unanticipated delays. He and the Desborough Construction team worked quickly and kept the project on track. John clearly takes a great deal of pride in his work. For example, although we didn’t specify that the bar top had to be one solid piece of wood, John knew that the bar was important to us and that a solid top would look best. To accommodate the lengthy bar top (which was constructed off-site), John cut a hole in the drywall of the basement stairway in order to get it safely down the stairs, installed the bar, and repaired the drywall during the same day. We couldn’t tell it had ever happened! Throughout the project, John went the extra mile to ensure that our expectations were exceeded and that we were extremely happy with the finished product. We feel lucky to have found Desborough Construction and John will be our first call for any future home improvement projects."

"Work was started promptly in early July and accomplished efficiently, until it slowed down and dragged on. Crew was pleasant and capable.   Work was finally completed in mid-November, after dispute over final payment. Major work was well done overall but the finishing up was not as well done. To successfully work with Buccilli Contractor it is essential that the contractor's proposal specify all work to be performed.  I accepted a general kitchen remodel proposal and then had a dispute over $2,000 for installation of backsplash, which I believed to be part of proposal.  Dominic Buccilli is a decent man and we resolved the issue.

"I'd give them an A. I thought they did a very good job. For price, I thought it was a little on the high side so I would say B, but I don't know any better. That's just a personal feeling. I thought they did a nice job. They came when they said they would. In fact, I have an estimate from them to do the Gutter Guard for all of the gutters in the house. It's a little bit more than we can afford right now, so I put it on the back burner."

"They were very careful in removing outside items like air conditioner, fence, plants etc. They seemed to do a thorough job of coating the outside wall, replacing the footer drain and replacing all the outside items. The second project required working in the basement. They removed all the items in the basement that were in the way. They ground away the face of many cement blocks to gain access to the block cavaties to strengthen the wall. This raised a lot of dust in the basement. They tried their best to cleanup but some dust was left. They did a good of returning the basement items. The workers were very friendly and courteous. The cleanup was good. The proof of the work will be after a few heavy storms and saturated ground."
