Looks great! Had to really work on walls, were in bad shape. Filled and finished two large holes in walls and painted ceiling and crown molding. Wallpaper was done perfectly.

An absolute dream team to work with. Highly recommend for any paint or wallpaper job. They arrive on time, leave everything as they found it( only brighter and cleaner).

I have lived in my house for 13 years and have hired 6 painters, with Bob Van Gunten's being the last. I wish I had known The Van Gunten painters early on. The job they undertook was extensive. They stripped wallpaper and painted a living room, dining room, hallway, and 2 bathrooms. They did an outstanding job. The workers were punctual and hard working. They cleaned up every night. I was so pleased with their work and give them the highest recommendation.

I hired Robert C. VanGunten, Inc. to paint my condominium in Willoughby. Bob came out to give me an estimate and I told him I needed my whole interior condominium painted. I needed to have the living room painted (with very high ceilings), all hallways, kitchen, family room, bedroom on the first floor ( including inside closets) and the second floor which included a master bedroom (including inside closets) and bathroom, a smaller bedroom and loft area. All ceilings were painted in the above areas as well. Being a single woman, Bob gave me a very affordable price that would work with my budget. Bob and his team of painters (Mark, Pete and Sue) started on Tuesday, 1/17/17 and finished on Friday 1/20/17. Bob uses his own employees, some of whom have been with him for years. No subcontractors which is a real plus! The professional skills of the painters were excellent. They were punctual, detailed in their work, cleaned up nicely at the end and did an EXCEPTIONAL job! I was very pleased with the beautiful painting. I am planning to have Bob and his team come back later in the year for some additional work. If you are looking for a first-rate contractor, Bob VanGunten is a great choice. I highly recommend him. I'm extremely glad I selected him after interviewing other contractors. I felt Bob had the expertise, skills and years of experience with excellent reviews. He and his team were very easy to work with. Great job Team VanGunten! A+ for a job well done.

We were very pleased with the work done by Bob Van Gunten and his team. They were pleasant, respectful, reliable and skilled - they've worked together for a while now (so no subs or temporary workers). We got other estimates which came in lower, but we went with Bob because he discussed specifics needed for a house like ours ( old cedar wood siding, chronic peeling problem) - as opposed to a "cookie cutter approach". He was agreeable when we asked for a few items to be handled differently once work was underway. Bob has years of experience and good expertise. "Good old-fashioned craftsmanship."

Bob and his team painted two full floors of our 100 year old home - kitchen, hallway, stairs, dining room, living room, den, vestibule, powder room, and four bedrooms. The house had been poorly maintained; every surface needed to be sanded, scraped, patched, and painted. Bob went over and above at every step in the process and followed up to ensure that everything was done to the highest standard. He was responsive, his team was diligent, and they finished the project on time. When I pointed out areas that needed touching up he addressed my requests right away. If you're looking for skillful restoration - not just a new coat of paint - Bob's a great choice.

The cabinets look like new. No evidence of stains remains.

The crew did a great job, very reliable and timely.

I have used Bob Van Gunten several times since moving to Shaker Heights, OH. He and his crew do an EXCELLENT job - work is the best quality, price is good for the quality of the work being done - true craftsmen. Bob's also done some plaster repair as part of the work - I cannot even see that there were ever any repairs having been made. He's a first-class contractor and I will continue to use him.

Bob and his crew are punctual, hard working and efficient. They also listened when I pointed out several areas needing special attention and they cheerfully took care of them.

He said he would come out on August 2 and I never heard from him. He could of at least contacted me if he no longer wanted to do the job or could not make it.

He's very good. He was great with the job, he came when he said and he was very friendly. I asked him about anything, he just seem ready to help and I just like the guy.

Showed up on time , hung wallpaper . All dealings were polite and professional.

Bob and his team did a great job painting all of the bedrooms, which included wallpaper removal and/or plaster work to hide wallpaper borders. The house was built in 1922 with plaster walls and the wallpaper was old, and not easy to get off. In addition, there were many different shades of white on the trim, which Bob was able to match. We also had wood trim in the back hall bedrooms, but one of the bedrooms had crown that was painted white. Bob matched the wood stain with brown glossy paint to make it look like wood, and it came out great.
The guys were able to remove the paper, repair any marks, sand and put up one coat in no time and were done with the entire job in less than a week. They even took the initiative of painting some of the register covers that were a little beat up, without charging us.
As a side note, we ended up remodeling three bathrooms with a contractor who used a different painter than Bob, and wanted us to use his painter, who was just horrible. In fact, we told the contractor that we never wanted his painter to step foot in our house again. His second painters were just OK, but again, no where near Bob's quality. Interestingly, our contractor finally ended up hiring Bob after a decorator he used recommended Bob. Bob fixed his other painters' botched job immediately. Bob is also an expert color matcher, so if you change a light fixture on the ceiling and there's a spot that hadn't been painted, he can match the paint without having to paint the entire ceiling. He is also good at plaster work.
The crew is very quiet and neat and clean...to the point that you may not even know they're gone for the day except for the perfectly painted room they left behind.

See above. Outstanding work completed very rapidly since they were willing to come in on a Saturday to finish their work. I definitely plan on using him again, this time for outside staining.

Referred by a designer from Sedlaks Interiors. He performed first class painting and wall covering. All the work was top notch and timely. Had him back to paint the exterior. All work has stood the test of time. I am having him back for more work. He and his crew could not have been more outstanding.
