"Mike and another person showed up and were right on time.  They called about 5 minutes ahead of time and were very professional.  I guess I wasn't clear as to the extent of work I needed done.  When explaining I also needed the drains dug up they recommended I call one of their subcontractors since they didn't do the work and didn't want to have me pay them so they can turn around and give the check to the subcontractor (Bulldog Gutters).  I called Bulldog Gutters, but was unable to leave a message due to the mailbox being full, but that is beyond their control.  I also asked them a couple questions about another contractor I am having difficulty with and they were very helpful and letting me know my options.  While they didn't preform any work their honesty was greatly  appreciated.

"Called at the end of October and made and appt for Oct. 28th.  We were told that the price would be $200.00 but that they would offer us the coupon rate of $175.00 after asking if we had a coupon, which we didnt. We got a call from the office Friday the 28th stating that the technician scheduled to come out had to go to the hospital and could they reschedule. We told them sure, no problem.  They reschedule with a date of Nov 1st at 12:00 pm and my husband verified time as he works the afternoon shift. He called me with time and date to mark the calendar.  On Tuesday the 1st he called me around 1:00 at work and said they had not shown or called. I told him to call them and and see what was going on and that we would need to reschedule.  He called and we were then told that they had Wednesday, Nov 2nd on their sheet or our appt.. He told them that he had been told the 1st and that it was too late that day  anyway as he needed to get ready for work.  They were due out around 11:00 or 11:30 on Wednesday.  My husband called me again Wednesday when they were an hour or so late and I told him to call them again to see if they were on their way since he had to be at work by 3:00 and if they werent to just cancel and I would call someone else.  He called them and was told they would be there soon.  They did arrive and as far as their work, it was done timely and well and my husband said they were very professional and seemed to know what they were talking about.  When it came time to pay the bill he told my husband it would be $200.00. Since we usually pay in cash we always have the correct amount for payment before anyone arrives.  My husband told him that we were told $175.00. He asked if we had a coupon and my husband said not that he knew of and the tech stated that they sometimes give the coupon rate when booking the appt. so that would be fine.  We understand that things happen beyond our control and we had no problem with the first appt cancellation but with the other problems with times and dates of appts and trying to schedule around to make sure my husband could be at work on time, we felt that follow ups and/or phone calls to let us know when someone is running late would have been the proper thing to do.  I also feel that the coupon rate or any rate quoted to a client should have been noted somewhere on our paperwork so that there was no question as to the amount we were to pay."

Pest Control questions, answered by experts

Honey bees are most likely to swarm during spring and early summer, typically from April through June, as colonies expand and prepare for new growth. Swarming occurs when a hive becomes overcrowded, prompting the queen and a group of worker bees to leave in search of a new nesting site. During this time, you may notice a temporary increase in bee activity around your property.

It is a myth that smashing a stink bug attracts more stink bugs. According to the National Pesticide Information Center, killing a stink bug will not attract more of them. They are able to secrete a pheromone that attracts other bugs, but they will only release their alarm pheromone when they’re squished—which won’t attract more bugs.

Ground moles are not typically dangerous. They're not known to carry rabies like many other wild animals, such as raccoons, skunks, and bats. And they don't typically bite humans, although it's possible if they feel threatened. If you do get bitten by a mole, it's best to see a physician to be safe, but most often, the bite will heal on its own unless it gets infected.

Setting up an animal trap in your yard largely depends on where you live and the type of critter you're dealing with. In many states, trapping nuisance animals like squirrels, rats, or raccoons is allowed, sometimes without needing a permit. However, certain wildlife species are protected, and not all states have lenient catch-and-release regulations.

Before placing a trap, check your local laws to avoid fines or other legal issues. Some areas allow DIY trapping, while others may require professional assistance. Most areas require a professional to relocate the animal once trapped. Consulting a pro ensures you handle the situation responsibly, humanely, and within the law.

Common signs of a flea infestation include pets scratching or grooming excessively, visible fleas on pets, and red spots or bites on the skin of both pets and people. You may also notice dark spots on your pet’s fur, known as “flea dirt,” which is flea feces. Itching and irritation for both you and your pets are also strong indicators of an infestation.
