"Perfection metal roofing replaced my old and damaged roof with a brand new metal roof that looks fantastic and functions great. Their customer service was excellent and the price they gave me was less than half of what comparable contractors were quoting me!"

"Completed the roof in 1 day (tear off, and install), very polite and professional. I've already had several compliments on the roof and it's only been a week since it's been done."

"Erie Homes was great. Ty and Chris shared the information about roofs in a clear and precise way. I love the high quality of the roofing materials and the standards they hold their workers to when placing the roof. Mike called me each step of the way, so I was prepared when the roofing supplies showed up. I even got calls after the beautiful roof was done. Amazing job!"

"These guys came out and absolutely crushed it. My roof was a mess - shingles curling and everything looking pretty rough. Jake H. came by for the estimate, and even though it was late and dark (so we skipped walking the roof), he was straight with me from the start. No BS, no pressure tactics - just honest talk about what needed to be done and a fair quote. During the job, they did find some bad roof sheeting under the shingles. Anyone with basic common sense knows you can't see that stuff until you get down to the wood - it's just part of the deal. Yeah, I had to pay extra for the wood replacement, but it needed to be done right. The end result? My house looks AMAZING! These guys knocked it out of the park. The new roof completely transformed my home's appearance, and their work quality was top-notch. Couldn't be happier with the outcome. But here's where they really showed their true colors - I had an issue with some shingles having granule problems. I tried dealing with Owens Corning myself but got nowhere and they denied my claim. Called Jason (one of the owners) and man, what a difference! He straight up told me I should've called him from the start since they handle all warranty issues for their customers. This guy took over completely, got the warranty claim approved the right way, and replaced my whole roof! The kicker? They didn't even charge for the extra labor that wasn't covered by the warranty. They just handled it because that's how they do business - standing behind their work 100%. I've never seen a company go this far above and beyond. Their attention to detail and business ethics are absolutely top-tier. If you need roofing work done by straight shooters who do quality work and actually stand behind it, these are your people."

Roofing questions, answered by experts

A gable roof costs between $13,000 and $30,000, depending on the size of your roof, the materials you use, and the type of gable roof you install. If you’re building a gable roof for new construction or as part of a major home remodel, your pricing will also depend on the type of roof trusses you use, how accessible your property is, and some other factors.

Homeowners insurance may cover the cost to tarp a roof if the type of damage falls within your coverage. For example, roof damage caused by a natural disaster may fall within your plan, and the cost of a temporary tarp may be incorporated. In general, however, simply tarping your roof for renovations will often not fall under insurance coverage.

Roll roofs don’t last as long as traditional roofs, like those made of asphalt shingles. A roll roof typically lasts between five and 15 years, whereas a shingled roof will last between 20 and 50  years. Modified bitumen roofs are similar in look to rolled roofing but have a 12 to 15 year warranty.

If you need to replace the roof over your attached garage, a roofing contractor can perform what is called a partial roof replacement that only affects garage roofing. However, it's important to keep in mind that only replacing a portion of your roof creates a situation where your roofing has two different lifespans. You will also miss out on the opportunity for a full roof warranty. In some cases, having two different roofs on your home could increase risks for leaks. When replacing the roof on a detached garage, homeowners have the option to make the project bigger by upgrading their home roof alongside their garage roof. However, this isn't necessary if your home has a newer, properly functioning roof. It is better to try to match the new garage roof to your home's existing roof instead.

DIY is not recommended, as slate requires specialized handling and proper underlayment installation for durability.
