"The service was great but had some minor complaints. First of all the salesman said they would cover all walkways...and they didnt do that also they didnt close either of the two doors causing LOTS of dust through out the house when it would of been confine to only one room. Last is they caulk outside the shower doors that i feel was unnecessary. It looked very unprofessional it was not straight and neat. They came out and tried to remove it but could not all the way. They were going to replace the new shower doors hardware but my wife and i decided we didnt want our news shower doors remove and new holes drilled into our new shower wall."

"Very smooth install. Ed was nice, personable, and timely. He installed the solar lights efficiently and correctly. And they function perfectly. Fee was very reasonable as well. He’s agreed to install similar lights next weekend at our daughter’s home located about 10 minutes away. We’re in the market for a new handyman, so would not hesitate to contact Ed again. Thank you."

"Pete has installed LVP flooring and carpet throughout my home. He has also installed flooring in my husband’s first home. He uses high quality products and has “hands down” the best competitive pricing. This man knows how to install flooring and his attention to detail is amazing! He is trustworthy, I could leave my home while he worked with no worries. I will always recommend and come back to Pete to install flooring. Give this man a call and you will not be disappointed! Thanks, Gay hoermle"

"We were in a bind and could not get a new bathtub to properly line up to the existing drain. We called 4-5 companies but Ben was the only one who answered his phone and set up an appointment on the spot. He came over, looked at the situation and gave us a quote the same day. We agreed to the price and he was there Monday at 9 AM as promised. It took him 1 days to complete the project as he estimated. He set the new tub, removed an old closet and moved it back a few inches, soldered the new copper pipes, etc. Cleaned up after himself and was very pleasant to work with. I would hire Ben again!"

Flooring Installation questions, answered by experts

Most people realize it is time to replace the padding when the carpet loses springiness or feels thin and unsupportive. Other telltale signs are lumps or dips in the carpet that could look unattractive or cause tripping hazards. Similarly, if your carpet is making a crinkly sound or starting to wear out prematurely, you might need to replace your padding.

Sometimes, professional floor cleaning isn't enough to remove all the set-in grime and odors that have accumulated over the years. In other instances, your flooring might be nearing the end of its lifespan after more than a decade. If that's the case, it might be time to replace your flooring and start fresh.

The cost to install flooring ranges from $1,500 to $4,460 for a 500-square-foot room. The overall price you pay depends on the size of your room and the flooring type you choose.

Yes, carpeted stairs are generally considered safer than stairs with hard surfaces like wood, vinyl, or tile. Carpet provides more traction, which helps reduce the chances of slips and falls, and its cushioning can lessen the severity of an injury if a fall does occur. Hard surfaces often lack the friction needed for a secure tread and can be quite slippery.

However, it's worth noting that some carpets can also be slick, particularly if they are brand new, dirty, or made from certain materials. If any stair surface feels too slippery, traction treads can be added to most materials to increase grip and improve safety.

To properly maintain and care for hardwood floors without damaging the finish, establish a regular cleaning routine. Sweep with a broom or microfiber dust mop daily, or vacuum weekly, to remove dirt and debris that can scratch the surface; be sure to clean in tight corners and under furniture. For a deeper clean, use a damp mop with a cleaner specifically designed for hardwood floors, but avoid using harsh chemicals or excessive water, as this can damage the wood. You can further protect your floors by placing mats at entryways to catch dirt and moisture and putting felt pads under furniture legs to prevent scratches. For long-term care, refinish the floors as needed to keep them looking their best.

The cost to install carpet is $1,780 on average for 330 square feet, the size of an average living room. This cost could range from $200 to $5,000, depending on the amount of carpet, material, and type of carpet.

If you need 500 square feet of carpet, it’ll cost $1,500 to $5,500, while 1,000 square feet of carpet costs $3,000 to $11,000. Polyester is one of the more affordable options, ranging from $1 to $3 per square foot. Wool is a more luxurious option, ranging from $4 to $20 per square foot
