He has a saying, \"If we can't fix it, you don't need it.\" I like it. We called them in the morning because, I had water all over my basement floor and they were here by 1 o'clock. When I checked out water tanks on Angie's List, he was cheaper than all the others. He had it installed by 4 o'clock. He had up and running. I think it was a Saturday and there was no Saturday charge. He cleaned up the area and it's perfect. He went above and beyond. He removed the appliance, and packaging it came in. It was like he wasn't even here. We thought we had a 40 gallon tank and he brought a 40 gallon tank. It turned out that we had a 50 gallon tank and so he returned it, got the proper size that we wanted, and he came back. I have him scheduled to maintain the rest of our gas appliances in the home. as far as i'm concerned gutter work was bad from the start[ SMALL Z section - corner type area] , looked terrible lots of screws bad chalking, leaked a lot even with minor rain- tried to fix , not good. was redone looks better but leaked and dripped worse kept putting more chalking on after trying twice- now was told all the gutter needs to be replace in whole front to remedy the problem and the whole gutter was bad , so if that was the case why did he say he could fix small area. . seems to be unable to stop the dripping and leaking . rest of the work done seems to be ok. Strenkoski Brothers and their team carefully measured the old sidewalks, and made suggestions about NOT replacing certain sections due to drainage issues and non-use. For example, one section ran next to our old carriage-style garage toward an area which once held an old chicken-coop. We surely don't intend to replace the chicken coop, neither did we need to pay for a sidewalk-to-nowhere! So they offered to remove the old sidewalk and cart it away with the rest of the old cement being removed from the rest of the job. It was actually their idea to remove it, and they could have easily given us a price to replace the sidewalk-to-nowhere ... but they showed interest in doing the job correctly, and they even suggested we might want to extend the garden out into that area where once the sidewalk stood. We greatly appreciated their interest in our property and the fact that they made suggestions for improvement rather than trying to do more work than we really needed. For another example, we had one oddly-shaped area around the side porch between the back stairs, an in-ground well, and a cellar door ... all very old with no consistency in shape. With having to work closely to the original well still in the ground, they showed us where they didn't want to compromise the integrity of the well but would work as close to it as possible while protecting the walls. We had a similar situation near the cellar stairs which had a very old tornado-type door protecting the stairs, all of which ran right next to the back porch and stairs. In all of these unique locations, the work was completed carefully and neatly, leaving us with our own improvements to complete with the door and well at a later date, but with sound concrete now supporting both areas. Also, our back porch had been slightly leaning, but after they installed the new back stairs, the porch is well supported by the new stairs which were built up to the porch level for stability. Also, the oddly-shaped sidewalk between all these areas was laid with a lovely circular border instead of the odd shapes, and now everything seems to be connected and aligned perfectly. Our old sidewalk running from the carriage-style garage all the way to the house was set very low into the ground. In fact, you had to take a step down from the level of the driveway to get to where the sidewalk started next to the garage. The company representative pointed this out to us and suggested building up the sidewalk higher to be the same height as the driveway, then gradually inching downward to connect with the area by the well and back stairs. I was concerned it would look like a ramp. However, instead of just replacing the old sidewalk at the old lowered level (which would have been easier and less costly for them), they knew how it SHOULD look when done correctly. So they pounded in a few stakes, extended some twine so I could see what they were talking about, and I then understood better. The final job was great! Finally, as a disabled individual with mobility issues, I was very worried about getting up and down our stairs while the concrete was setting up for a few days after being poured. Appreciating my concerns, the company originally suggested a ramp, but walking with a cane or a walker, I was very worried about falling down. So instead, they structured their work, cut out and laid the front stairs one week, worked on part of the back sidewalk, let all of that concrete set up for multiple days over the weekend, and then started on the back steps the following week. When the time came for the old back steps to be removed and the new concrete poured, the front steps were just fine for us to use safely and soundly. It would have been much easier for them to cut out everything at once, pour all the concrete at the same time, and just install a ramp in the back. However, they customized the job into smaller sections and respected my dignity and concerns about physical limitations. These were true gentlemen from the initial appraisal and start of the job to the finish, both in their treatment of us as customers with special needs and in their treatment of each other on the job. (I never heard any cursing or inappropriate language from anyone, and all the workers seemed to be appreciated by their supervisors for their talents and dedication to the job). Everything was cleaned up quite well, and now we have a lovely front and back sidewalk and stairs, plus space for a newly expanded garden by our garage which we wouldn't have even thought of without their suggestions."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/ny/niagara-falls/strenkoski-bros-reviews-312723.htm"},"position":8},{"@type":"ListItem","item":{"@type":"LocalBusiness","name":"Matt Frost Construction","address":{"@type":"PostalAddress","addressRegion":"NY","addressCountry":"US"},"review":{"@type":"Review","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"P D."},"reviewBody":"What should have taken 2.5 to three months took six, because Matt would continually leave to go on other jobs. If he was not here, then neither were his subcontratcors. We hired an archtect at Matt's request who charged a lot of money ($5,000) to design the additiions. What Matt did was change the plans, namely, lowering the new rooms by two feet so that the interior would not require steps. By lowering the foundation, he was warned many times that, in our area, this is below water level. The foundation is block, was never wrapped or tarred--therefore, with water bleeding through these and seeping in under the footers will eventuaklly compromise the mortar and mold the floors. He installed sumps, but the areas are of course perpetually wet. Electrician put switches in places hard to reach, and convinced us to avoid an upgrade to 150 amps which was in the contract.
Matt installed Andersen windows. The screens for these windows did not match the slots in the windows. He told US to call Andersen (since the windows were already installed) to address the problem. The new bathroom is far removed from the boiler, requiring a re-cycler to provide hot water which was to be done before his plumber (a drunk) took off to go gambling. This was never done, and now he has asked US to pay for it's purchase, that he would install it.
His friend and foundation man used our property as a staging area for other projects, and essetntially double-charged us for yard restoration following the completion of the project. While some of the over charge was remediated, this person also worked with Matt on heating, and essentially changed our contract from in-floor (radiant) heat, to UNDER-floor heat ($$$), then failed to properly install a thermostat. While some of these issues are smaller than others, we are now faced with taking Matt to court for the more egregious ones. He simply got overwhelmed and refuses to listen to women, in this case us, the homeowners. However, I'm sure our lawyer will get his attention. He also was to fix my porch steps in which he sent someone and they did not complete as I would not give the last $50 I owed him until the steps were completed so they never came back - the steps are cracking and the stain and finish was never put on (cement steps) I would say 50% he did o.k. and the rest is a nightmare"},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/ny/clarence/preferred-home-improvement-reviews-6222351.htm"},"position":10}]}

Honestly not sure why a worker wore a Trump hat on one of the last days, at my job we're not allowed to wear anything remotely political and I don't work with the public or customers!"

Granite Restoration questions, answered by experts
You generally cannot change the color of the natural stone, such as making granite countertops darker or lighter. Some people claim that certain chemicals will lighten or darken granite, but those will damage the stone and not provide uniform, expected results, so it’s better not to try. Similarly, some people ask whether they can stain over granite. Granite is beloved for its stain-resistant finish, so you probably won’t get the best outcome if you try to stain over granite to make it darker.
Instead, consider honing, painting, or applying another material over the top of the granite to make it appear darker.
Yes, baking soda does shine marble. Sprinkle it directly on the marble and let it sit for about five minutes, then wipe it clean with a damp microfiber cloth. If you’d like to make a baking soda paste, then simply mix the baking soda with equal parts water and apply it. You can also add baking soda and dishwashing liquid to a bucket of warm water and mop a marble surface.
DIY is possible for small areas. Professional services provide deep cleaning and a polished finish for larger spaces.
There are a few ways to remove calcium buildup in your pipes, but the most natural option involves vinegar, baking soda, and boiling water. To use this method, pour 1/2 cup of vinegar down the drain you're trying to clear, then follow it up with 1/2 cup of baking soda. Place a rag over the drain to create a light seal and leave it for 30 minutes. Remove the rag, then pour a pot of boiling water into the drain. After the water drains, wipe everything down with a sponge.
While no countertop material is truly “heatproof,” granite countertops are extremely resistant to high temperatures. Some types of granite can withstand temperatures up to 1,200 degrees Fahrenheit. However, we don’t recommend placing hot pots and pans directly on granite countertops. Even if it doesn’t scar the granite, it may damage the sealant.
