"I requested quotes from six people five showed up. Bob's fell right in the middle of the group. After talking with Paul (the owner) about their process, time table, giving me certificates of insurance and really asking questions even about his equipment I felt most comfortable going with him. They showed up when they said they would his team worked absolutely great together each knowing exactly what they had to do. This tree extended into two neighbor's yards and they did a bang out job ! Everything was picked up and they were very professional ! I dont say this often but I am extremely pleased with their work and glad I chose them. I absolutely would recommend them."

"They arrived as promised. The cost was very reasonable. Both my very large blue spruce trees were removed efficiently and the clean up afterwards was excellent. I highly recommend Meta Tree Services"

"EXCELLENT!!! I needed trimming done on a very large tree in my backyard. Not only was the price very reasonable, but the service and attention to detail was superb. From an immediate visit and estimate, to updates on when the service would be, to him cleaning up everything when all was said and done…excellent. Anything tree/landscaping related in my future is all their business!!! 100% recommend!!!! I got a little nervous watching him swinging 40 feet above the ground with a chainsaw dangling from him! But that’s a sign of a true pro!!!!"

"They were very respectful, professional, they had the right equipment, and listened to my concerns. They respected my property and my neighbors' property. Their cost was extremely competitive, and very fair. I was happy with the result. They cleaned up after themselves as well."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

You don’t always need a permit to grind a stump, but you might need one depending on your location and the stump’s surroundings. Permits are often needed if the stump is part of a protected tree species, near public areas or utility lines, or close to environmentally sensitive zones like wetlands. Some cities also regulate noise and work hours. Always check local rules before grinding, and contact your city or county office if you're unsure.

You should plant trees at least 15 to 20 feet away from your house, and more if the tree will grow large and spread its limbs. Trees pose several dangers to houses when planted too close. They can litter the roof with leaves and branches, create fire hazards, make a ladder for larger pests, and even damage the foundation as their roots grow.

Whether tree roots will continue to grow after a tree has been cut down depends on the species. Some tree roots will eventually die because they can no longer get nutrients through photosynthesis. However, other species that reproduce through root sprouts can continue to grow and produce new sprouts for seven years or more. For example, the roots of elms, ficus, and willows tend to regrow aggressively, while the roots of pines, oaks, and maples will typically die. To determine if a root system is still active, look for new sprouts on the old trunk, stump, or any exposed roots.

Unfortunately, if you cut the top off a palm tree, it will die. Instead of budding or branching out, the top begins to slowly rot. That's why having a professional tree trimming at least twice a year is a good idea. If you don’t have experience with trimming your palm tree, you might accidentally cut the top off, leaving a dead and rotting tree in your wake.

A general rule is that trees need 10 gallons of water for each inch of the tree’s diameter. For large trees, that can amount to approximately 160 gallons of water or more. Watering big trees to this extent can take quite a bit of time using a hose. For this reason, you may consider installing a soaker hose or sprinkler system to make the job easier.
