The three most common types of asphalt are hot asphalt, MC cold mix, and UPM asphalt. Hot asphalt is used most often for paving and patching roadways while it’s hot and workable. Make sure you compress the material enough so it stays intact against the traffic. Loose gravel is the most affordable option in most cases, but concrete is often the most reliable and durable.

The average cost to repair a concrete driveway is around $1,765, but paying as low as $831 or as much as $2,800 is not uncommon. The total price you’ll pay depends on several factors:

  • Extent of the damage

  • Whether or not the cracking is caused by sinking concrete

  • Whether or not the concrete requires reinforcement

  • Size of your driveway and the affected area
