"Very Professional , they did a fantastic job removing dead ash trees and cleaning up after .... They accommodated my specific times of coming to give me the quote and then as promised they called ahead and showed up and worked the whole time they were here. ... Very satified with the job.... and the price...... my neighbors noticed the work they did also and they were impressed.... I found them in the Clipper Magazine and glad of it.... "I had already hired Steve to take down the 50' maple in my front yard when I noticed it has shifted and that is was likely a large branch would hit my roof before he was scheduled to be there. I called him on a Saturday, he showed up at 5:00PM and trimmed enough of the tree to protect the house and finished the job the next couple of days, while trying to be quiet because I have a family member that works nights! Tree is down, price was excellent, he was courteous and a pleasure to work with. I will be calling him again for more work later next year."

"These are the guys you want to hire for your tree service. Justin and his crew are quick, efficient, respectful of the properties they're working on and go above and beyond - all while offering extremely reasonable pricing. There are a lot of options out there for tree service, but these guys are a tier above the rest because they take genuine pride in their work and aren't just trying to make a quick buck. Happy to say they'll be my go-to for tree/property service in the area."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Homeowners in Syracuse often make mistakes like hiring uninsured contractors, neglecting to check for required permits, or pruning trees such as oaks during high-risk disease periods. Ignoring advice from certified arborists or failing to address storm-damaged limbs promptly can lead to property damage. The Syracuse City Arborist advises consulting local experts and following best practices for tree trimming and removal to protect both trees and property.

Helpful?

In Syracuse, unexpected costs during tree service can include permit fees from the Syracuse Parks & Recreation Department, charges for stump grinding, debris hauling, or lawn restoration after heavy equipment use. Additional expenses may occur if utility clearance is needed or if access is limited by fences or narrow lots. Clarify with your tree removal professional what's included in the estimate to avoid surprises.

Helpful?

Tree service professionals in Syracuse should follow OSHA standards, using helmets, chainsaw chaps, and fall protection. They must assess for hidden hazards like ice-damaged limbs and be trained for electrical safety when working near power lines. The Syracuse City Arborist recommends setting up clear work zones and using proper signage if near public streets. Homeowners should keep pets and children indoors for everyone's safety.

Helpful?

When hiring for tree service in Syracuse, prioritize companies with certified arborists, active liability and workers' compensation insurance, and a proven track record with local tree species like sugar maple and eastern hemlock. Ask about their familiarity with Syracuse's heavy snowfall and storm conditions, and confirm they follow guidelines from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. Always request written estimates and verify references through local sources.

Helpful?

In Syracuse, permits are generally required for tree removal on public property, work in historic districts, or projects near power lines. The Syracuse Parks & Recreation Department and the Syracuse City Arborist oversee these regulations. For trees near utility lines, coordination with National Grid may be necessary. Always check with these authorities before starting, as local ordinances and requirements can change based on location and tree size.
