"Great! John, the owner was super helpful and nice on the phone. Eased all our concerns. The crew, Phil and Tim, showed up right on time and were able to locate the service caps in the lawn in 10 minutes. They showed me clearly how full the tanks were and clearly explained the problem and the solution. The prices quoted were very fair and there were no surprises. It took around 90 minutes. The job was all done outdoors and when they left you would never know it was done. Very neat and professional. The odors, etc we had were gone and we noticed the drains all flowing more freely. Exactly as they said. So glad we had this done before it became a serious and ugly problem inside the house. We highly recommend Priority Cesspool Sewer and Drain. Thank you!"

"We called Drain RX, on a Sunday, after noticing our basement was flooded and seemed to be coming from the toilet bowl (thank you toddlers lol). Victor called us back, came soon after, and diagnosed the problem. He had us fixed up and back on track in no time!! Super professional and we can not thank him enough!!"

"Excellent work, very professional, polite and neat. They arrived when they said the would, only an hour after I called to schedule an appointment! Mike wore covers over his shoes while in my home, he cleaned up after himself and even went the extra mile to clean out under my sink! He was straight forward, worked quickly and reassured me during a frustrating situation. Office staff was polite and professional as well, I would defiantly recommend them for your plumbing needs.

"I own an air conditioning company, so I understand the value of service. I had a clogged kitchen sink that I tried to clear myself. Unfortunately, I only had a 25 foot snake and it just wasn't long enough to reach the clog. When I called a few places near me, I got the same attitude when I explained that I know how to remove the trap, check the garbage disposal, etc, etc. They knew they were not going to take advantage of me, so they just threw a high price at me and couldn't wait to get me off the phone. I then checked HomeAdvisor and saw Draino Sewer Cleaning's reviews. I filled out the online service request last night and within minutes, the owner was on the phone with me. I appreciate how fast he called. He listened to me explain my problem and respected the fact that I knew how to remove the trap, snake the main line, etc. I asked for a price and he gave me an extremely fair and "firm" price. I asked how his guys would know if it's just a clog in the kitchen line or the main line, and he said: "since every other sink and toilet works, it can't be the main sewer line". He assured me it would just be the kitchen line. Right there I knew he was honest, so I scheduled an appointment for the next day. He told me his guy would be there between 10-12pm. He showed up at 9:45am, which was great because I needed to get to my office. The technician Pete put a tarp down on the floor, removed the trap, carefully removed the water with his own bucket (didn't ask me for anything because he was well prepared) and brought in a 50 foot snake. He extended the entire 50 foot length through the pipe, snaked it back out and at the end was a baby wipe! Those things will destroy your entire plumbing system. He replaced the trap and waited to see that the drain was clear. Pete was a nice guy, very clean when working and did a great job. I paid, gave Pete a tip and will have them come back once a year to clear the main drains to the house just as a preventative measure in the future. Great company!"

"Excellent Plumbing and Heating arrived on time (good communication) and had to reset the toilet and replace that water valve, and then to turn off the main water line to replace that valve. Juan and Dimitri did a great job. Willing to work with you on pricing depending on scope of work to be done. Highly recommend."

Toilets questions, answered by experts

Yes, an ambitious homeowner could decide to replace their own toilet. A person attempting to do a DIY toilet installation should keep in mind that the average toilet weighs between 100 and 120 pounds. That means that you'll need to be comfortable lifting and carrying your old toilet and replacement toilet during both phases of the project. Additionally, homeowners will need to have basic plumbing knowledge to avoid plumbing problems that could result in messy, expensive water damage in their bathrooms. Hiring a plumbing pro from the get-go can help you avoid damaging your plumbing or your new toilet.

Depending on the type of renovations needed, the cost to build an ADA bathroom ranges between $700 and $8,050. On average, most homeowners pay around $4,375 for this remodel. This type of remodeling requires following strict ADA accessibility guidelines to ensure a universal design.

When working on your bathroom floor tiling, you should always tile the floor first and then refit the toilet afterward. This has both practical and visual advantages—the tile will have a better seal, and the installation will look cleaner.

On the other hand, when you try to cut the tiles to fit around the toilet, you’re putting yourself at a disadvantage. It’s a lot more work, it’s hard to be precise, and mistakes or miscalculations can lead to future moisture damage to the tiling, grout, and subfloor.

Toilets typically connect to your main vent stack, a vertical pipe that runs through all finished levels of your home and exits through the roof. It’s located behind the walls, but if you have an unfinished basement or a utility closet, you may find a portion of it running the vertical length of the space. Some basement toilets use an air admittance valve instead, which is a small vent located in the wall directly behind the toilet that extends upward a few feet from the drain.

This rumbling noise after flushing may sound like a hammer or knocking inside the walls. When you flush, it opens a valve so additional water can come in. However, if the valve malfunctions, then this rush of water has nowhere to go, which makes all the excess water hit your pipes and create a loud hammering sound.
