They did a 4000 sq ft entire house floor install of high quality wood laminate . They moved all the furniture without using outdoor storage. They replaced existing molding. "I knew that I needed and wanted the floor (living room / dining room combo) to be refinished, but exactly what I wanted to do was the question. Rey came in and broke down the steps that were going to happen so that I understood the process and was clear on how long it was going to take. I was very concerned with the sanding process but there was hardly any dust. I was shocked! I was undecided with the color (I knew I wanted natural but was unsure with so many tints available) Rey sanded the floor being careful to remove the baseboards and the moldings so they wouldn't be damaged. He did a coat of amber which just slightly tinted the floor without leaving it pale natural or too yellow. He then gave me the option of putting an additional coat but I loved it so much we left it. He added the top layers (sealants) and carefully put back all the molding. I can very confidently recommend Defender Flooring. "Dan was an excellent floor refinisher. He showed up everyday on time and was ready to work. His price was very fair and based on square footage. He worked with us on timeline for completion of job. We just closed on house and wanted to refinish floors before moving in. As for the craftsmanship, it was more than I could have imagined. That included handling the refinishing under radiators, in closets, installing a door saddle and even repairing some 2 inch holes that we discovered were in the floor when we pulled up the carpets. I think they were originally put there for cable line. Also, I should mention he handled this entire job, which included two full floors of a Dutch Colonial, by himself in 6 days. When it came time to choosing the stain, Dan prepared a few samples on the sanded floor so we could gage the actual look. The result was spectacular. I would recommend Dan to any one in need of an excellent professional floor refinisher. He is a small family business owner and very conscientious of his work ethic."
