He listened to my concerns and was able to stop by and evaluate the issues with several hours. 3. He was prompt and accurate in his description of the issue, what parts on under warranty, how long for the parts, and the cost. 4. Knowing this was a rental property, he also advised of things seen and that may need to be addressed and once again confirmed that I really wanted to spend the money to fix the issue. 5. His time from evaluation to repair was less than expected, and once fully disassembled, he found he could perform the fix for less than expected - and he did not try to play games, he advised me of the change and the lower charge. I hire and work with a lot of contractors, repair people, etc. both for my business and my job. I can tell you I am shouting this company's work ethic high and wide. "

"Beware of shipping issues with this company. Ordered an ice maker installation kit on 10/10/25. Shipping was due no later than 10/20 according to company and FedEx tracking. FedEx tracking showed the package at their facility for 8 days without moving beginning on 10/15. Called FedEx 3 times. Each time they said they cannot find package and I have to contact shipper. Shipper has to make a claim, they will not mark it as lost. Called Appliance Parts Pros twice. Each time they say FedEx has to mark package lost before they will do anything. They also state they have to wait 14 days from them before doing anything because of their contract with FedEx. I don't care about their contract, I want what was ordered and paid for. Just going in circles with them and FedEX. If they shipped after 14 days it would be 22 days from that point, 32 days from the date of order if they shipped it that day. There was a deadline for installing this part before tenants arrive. They did not care, would not m"

The exchange was painful -- so unhelpful I felt like I was interacting with a bad chatbot. 3) I ended up eating shipping costs (expected) and got hit for a 50% restocking fee (unexpected) because I refused the package instead of paying to ship it back. Didn't matter that it went to the correct address, was clearly labeled, and had prior return authorization. However, your furnace can last up to three decades, and your air conditioner can typically last up to 15 years, so consulting with a pro before deciding to replace both of them is best. If it’s before that time limit for each, you can fix many problems with repairs or just replace one.

It is possible to add air conditioning to an older home, but it can be very expensive to do so. Expect to pay anywhere from $6,000 to $17,000 or more for the ductwork and AC unit. You’ll also have to hack into the home’s walls and ceilings to add ductwork, which can impact the aesthetics of an old home.

You should plan to change your AC unit's filter every one to three months, depending on the manufacturer's recommendations. You should also clean the coils at least once per year, but if you have pets or someone in your household has allergies, you might need to clean them more often. Fortunately, many pros will clean the coils and change the filter for you during an inspection, which you should schedule once or twice per year.

The first sign you're not getting enough return air is if some parts of your home feel hotter or colder than others. If nothing else is causing that, leaky air ducts are your next clue. If the air pressure feels different in every room, this is also usually a sign of insufficient return air.

You reset your AC after a power outage by turning off the air conditioner from the thermostat, resetting the circuit breaker, waiting 30 minutes, turning on the AC from the thermostat, and waiting 10 minutes to see the impact.
