"Ali came over to our home when we called with a concern of the air flow in our central air conditioning system. He checked the return, the air flow, the temperature at all of the vents, and the entire system. It had more to do with the age of the system and gave us suggestions on how a different filter could increase the air flow. He did all of this and refused to take any money for his time. He is a true honest professional and someone that we would recommend to everyone."

"I had a great experience with this company. Spoke with Joe who was very informative and helpful with my decision to install 3 mini split units. Joe was fair in price for this job, and was prompt and responsive. Work was done in such a timely manner and I am so happy to get this done finally!"

"Mark and Serge were prompt, professional, and performed quality service. We were away when there was a problem with our AC units and they were able to work with our house sitters--and me remotely--to quickly get the AC up and running again as well as alerting us to an issue with our Nest thermostat. Panda is our go-to service for all our HVAC needs."

"Excellent.
Very professional and honest business.
Howard cleaned 2 separate air conditioning zones and also the dryer vent.
He returned about a month later when we had an unrelated air conditioning issue and helped us out at no charge.
Would very highly recommend.

Customers say: Quality work

"John answered our request literally in less than a minute. The ac in my inlaws home was leaking so much water that it began to work its way up the wall and soaked the carpet. (I actually went out and bought a wet dry vac and sucked up close to a gallon of water.) After doing some research with Caroleena's help, I discovered it was an apparent clog in the drain system. I did what I could but the ac had to be slid out of the sleeve to clean it out. That was beyond my skinny arms and this was the day after the recent July heat- and humidity-wave. Doubtful we'd get someone there that day, I explained to John that my inlaws are elderly and my MIL is on oxygen and it was important that they have a working unit. John told me he'd have to see how his afternoon panned out, so thinking he'd be too busy with the recent sweltering weather I took my FIL to motor vehicle. While there John called to say the job was done. When I spoke to my SIL she told me John came with a worker, took the unit outside and hosed it down, and "slime" came out of the ac! She said the job was done quickly and neatly and the unit was nice and clean. Best of all, the price was better than expected - more than reasonable! To top it all off, my MIL said she likes John and his worker, and she's a hard person to please. I highly recommended John. He was polite, professional, efficient, and more than fair. He is now one of my preferred professionals on HomeAdviser. I will be using and referring him for future work. You should too!"

Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

While 72 degrees is a comfortable setting for many people, it’s likely not the most efficient temperature setting for your air conditioning unit. By pushing the temperature up to 75 or 78 degrees, you stand to save money on your energy bill. That said, these temperatures may be too warm to be comfortable for some people and are definitely too warm for most people to sleep comfortably.

Evaporator coils in an HVAC system typically last between 10 and 15 years, which is roughly the same lifespan as the entire AC unit. The longevity of the coils can be affected by usage frequency, environmental conditions, and how well they are maintained. Regular maintenance, such as cleaning and inspections, can extend their durability. If the evaporator coil fails in an older air conditioner, it may be more cost-effective to replace the whole unit rather than just the coil.

Professional HVAC installation requires licensed expertise in several areas, including electrical- and plumbing-related work. An HVAC team must know how to safely handle regulated refrigerant chemicals and the gas, oil, or propane used in furnaces and boilers. A proper HVAC installation protects your home from energy loss, fires, and even carbon monoxide leaks.

Split systems are the most common type of HVAC system. Split systems have two main units: an indoor one and an outdoor one. These units work together to pull in air, heat or cool it, and distribute it throughout your home. Other popular types of HVAC systems include hybrid systems and packaged heating and air systems.

Yes, you can clean AC coils yourself. Just make sure that the power to your AC system is off before you begin. You’ll need some basic tools and supplies, including a soft brush, cloth, screwdriver, and a commercial or homemade cleaning solution. Cleaning your coils will only cost about $10.
