As he checked it we saw that there was an open gap of wire about one inch before the actual switch that may have been the actual cause and was potentially unsafe. I much appreciated him taking care of this dangerous situation that had probably been there for many years prior to our living here. The security devices are also a nice addition and did require some wiring of new circuits. He also added an entirely new line from the switch box to enable us to install a freezer in the garage.
