"We decided to replace the tired carpet in our condo. United Carpet was our second stop in search of solid vinyl wood plank flooring. We were fortunate to meet Art McLeod, who showed us a vast array of options, We settled on Karndeen and found one we though would go well next to the existing parquet wood flooring in the rest of the condo. He urged us to take a sample home, and we were glad he did, for our sense of the color match was way off. When we returned he shows us what he thought would work. He "right" sold us, (others had tried to get us to take a more expensive product than we needed or wanted) offering us a product a bit less expensive than what we picked, but he assured us it was of equal quality and better for our application, over a concrete floor (we live an a converted 1903 schoolhouse). His selection was right on the money. He kept us apprised of the order and delivery dates and set up an install date based on our availability. His install crew, Jim and Bob arrived on time, calling ahead. Unfortunately they discovered the concrete under the carpet had heaves and cracks and would require leveling. They were craftsmen and did the job carefully and completely. A one day install dragging into four days, but we didn't mind, because we knew the job would be done well and right. They went out of their way to accommodate us in timing of arrival, and always kept us apprised of any need for them to briefly engage in a repair or other activity. They were not going to leave until the job was done perfectly, and they held to that promise. They were pleasant, respectful, and a pleasure to have in our home. We are thrilled with the product, with the installation and our entire experience with United Carpet has been excellent. We cannot recommend them highly enough."

"Clean your carpets yourself for BETTER results and save hundreds. I had this company out two months ago to clean all the carpets in my house prior to moving in. They completed a great room, office, two sets of stairs and a recreation room in two hours. They are the most expensive cleaning outfit in town, and I did negotiate a better price after the initial sticker shock of nearly $600. Carpets were cleaned and after they had dried 4 days later there was no noticeable difference in the appearance of any of the carpets. The carpets were all 5 years old in a home with two people in their s. Fast forward two months and we did them again ourselves. We used a $75 Bissell carpet shampooer and standard carpet cleaning solution. The amount of filth still pulled up from the carpets was disappointing. One room we redid has had zero traffic through it as it is full of oddball furniture and boxes from the move. That room produced chocolate milk water, not acceptable seeing as it was the only room untouched since the professional cleaning by Clean Your Carpets. Their professional cleaning should have yielded significantly better results. I will not use them again nor recommend them to anyone. I contacted the owner (Tim) about this prior to my review and received no response."

"Mike previously purchased supplies and did roofing work for us, and we were pleased. However, he noticed a faulty electrical socket connected to our heat tape and offered to replace it. He requested and was paid a substantial amount to purchase supplies for the socket and stated a return date to be three days later. He did not return, he did not answer any texts, phone calls and emails. Finally, he did respond and gave another return date which was about ten days later but still did not show up or answer texts, emails or phone calls. I am adding to this review: 3/14/2020: I have been reimbursed for the supplies not purchased and the work not done. I have added a separate review but it is still pending. The work Mike did for us was good. The first three times he responded quickly and arrived promptly as promised. Good communication is essential, and the lack of it is why I wrote the negative review. UPDATE 3/16/2020: Our roof was leaking badly. Mike responded to our call quickly, and came to help us on a weekend. He shoveled part of the roof and attended to the horrid ice dam. He returned two more times and shoveled and got rid of two more ice dams. He was a very hard worker and also seemed knowledgeable. I felt that he deserved a good review for the good work that he did on our roof. I also should note that the charge was very high, (hence the lower score for value for money) but we were glad to have someone show up to do the work. He returned the money today that we gave him to do the electrical work. (see other review by James B. - Breckenridge) I do not know why he suddenly stopped responding. I have to add because of that, I would be hesitant to consider him."

"Joe and Sam put in a ceramic and glass tile backsplash for us. It's beautiful and we love it. I watched the entire process. I will use them again for any tiling project in the future because they are precise and detailed and do not practice "good enough mentally". They were on time everyday, they cleaned up each day. Joe listened to how we wanted the tiling to look when finished, understood our desired look and delivered an amazing finished backsplash. "We contacted Matt to demolish a very old deck and build a new Trex composite deck, stairs and railing. The entire base support structure of the old deck needed to be replaced, including attachment points to the home that were rotted due to poor design and flashing of the prior deck. When looking for a contractor we researched many options. We eliminated contractors who seemed to only occasionally build a deck, those who had a different primary focus area, and those who did not often do composite decking. Initially, we found Matt's business listed on the Trex website as a certified TrexPro Gold installer. After then reading his positive reviews across AngliesList, Facebook, & Google, and seeing photos of many projects that appeared to be the type of work we were looking for, we reached out. Communication was excellent from the initial quote through completion of the project. The quality of the work and attention to detail was excellent. The project was a notable investment in our home, but we are very pleased with the results would highly recommend Matt to others."
