Mark did a really fantastic job. Our new bathroom is beautiful! We had exactly 7' of wall space and he made our 7' of fixtures (shower and sink) fit perfectly! We had torn the 7'x7' bathroom down to the studs. Mark moved the plumbing for the shower and built the bathroom from scratch. He implemented some really good ideas, such as the dark metal bar he used as the outside edge for the tile. In the kitchen he removed part of a wall, installed an engineered header, and drywalled the exposed surfaces. He also re-drywalled part of a hallway. All work was completed in ~3 weeks. Mark takes obvious care and has pride in his work and does a fantastic job.

When I purchased my first home, I was truly captivated by the “charm” that my 1940s house possessed. The one area that was lacking was the bathroom. While it had been “updated” sometime in the distant past, it was tiny and lacked a shower. Unfortunately, this was no easy task, as I became aware that all the plumbing was original to the house, and in very poor condition. This was a much larger project than I had anticipated, and since I was already unhappy with the appearance of the bathroom, I decided to hire a contractor. This was not an easy process; many contractors would only renovate a minimum of two rooms at a time, others were not available for several months. When I met Mark, I knew instantly that I wanted to hire him. He asked me a lot of questions about the direction I wanted to go in rather than talking at me. I felt as though we were collaborating, which was in sharp contrast to other contractors who were flashy and clearly trying to persuade me to quickly sign a contract. Mark patiently answered the many questions I had and came across as being very knowledgeable in dealing with older, “charming” houses such as mine. I was reassured by the fact that he would be performing the work himself rather than subcontracting it out to people who might not be as experienced. Instead of feeling overwhelmed, I actually began to feel excited about the remodel process! After starting the project, Mark kept me well-informed about where he was in the process after I arrived home every evening. The project took a little longer than anticipated due to issues with the aforementioned original plumbing, years of shoddy repairs by the previous owners, and a water heater that should have been on display in a museum rather than in my basement. Mark was able to show me what the issues were, and always asked me how I wanted to proceed; he is a perfectionist and always handled these snags in a professional manner with ease. This was in addition to taking care of recurring unrelated issues in other areas of my house outside the scope of the original job. In the end, I really do have the bathroom of my dreams and it is my favorite room in the house by far. This includes the new lighting, fixtures, vanity, and toilet that I can see and enjoy for years to come in addition to all the work that I can’t see behind the beautiful tile work he did on the walls and underneath the floors. The bathroom is now consistent with the period details throughout the rest of the home but with the modern conveniences previously missing. Mark obviously takes great pride in his work and I could not be happier with the results!

Mark and his father were excellent and we are very appreciative of the work they did. The room they finished looked seamless, like a wall was never there. They were also very respectful and courteous of our house and made sure to clean up as they went along. Although the price was a tad higher than some other estimates, we preferred hiring Mark because he asked the right questions and seemed to care about doing the job right.

Mark Melfa has done an excellent job. He is very professional and detail oriented. He treats these jobs as if he is working on his own home and always leaves the job spotlessly cleaned up. I would highly recommend Mark Melfa!

Mark is the guy you should use for any and all of your projects. I've used others but I felt that Mark not only knew what he was doing but did it with more qaulity and thoughtfullness to the project than other would have. Use this guy if you want it done to your expectations. Thank You Mark ...

Melfa met us in person and explained work to be done. He provided a written list of items to be covered and an overall written price. He discussed specs on materials to be used, though they were not written. As it turned out, there was more repair needed than what was originally quoted, but physical examination and photos showed that the additional work had to be done. There was additional charge for the extra work. Overall, the materials and work promised were exactly what he delivered. Melfa was always prompt, even working long hours and on the weekend in order to be ahead of storms. He met with us three times for planning, progress, and completion, and spent as much time as needed. Everything was done to our satisfaction. The final price seemed high, but given the workmanship and attention, we didn't argue.

Since the dishwasher needed major repairs and it was 11 years old , decided to purchase a new one and got free installation. We will call him when we are ready to replace kitchen sink and faucet. He was very professional and knowledgeable about mobile home repairs
