"From start to finish, the experience was professional and seamless. Wilmer was prompt, knowledgeable, and provided a fair and reasonable estimate. His office staff was equally impressive—friendly and efficient in setting up a date for the removal of two trees. When the crew arrived, they got right to work and impressed me with their strong teamwork and coordination. Everyone supported each other, and it was clear they knew exactly what they were doing. The cleanup was thorough—no wood, leaves, or stray branches left behind. It’s like they were never even there, except my yard looks so much better now! Highly recommend this team for anyone needing tree removal or cleanup services. They truly set the bar high!"

"From my first phone call with Steven to the completion of the work, this company is excellent! The attention to detail, the quick response time and the gorgeous lawn they created for me gives me the opportunity to highly recommend this company. I have two large dogs that had previously destroyed my non turf grass lawn by digging craters all over. Steven promised me after he installed the turf lawn I would never see these dog disasters again and he was right. The lawn now looks picture perfect and my dogs are loving it too. Itâ s soft and plush looking. Stevenâ s team was highly professional and all the work was completed in one day. I highly, highly recommend this company."

"Anthony and his crew did a fantastic job planting our front yard flower beds and a side hedge of arborvitae. He was very communicative during planning, was flexible about discussing options, was prompt and on time on the work day and everything was left clean/neat. His pricing was competitive and the plants he brought were of good quality. Overall he and his crew were a pleasure to work with, respectful of my property and I would certainly recommend them. I will be hiring them again."

"We were extremely happy with the work performed by H&M. Moises, Hector and crew were courteous and did whatever needed to please us. They did most of the renovation in our condo......painting, installation of bathroom cabinets, sink, installed tile floor, etc. They also installed vinyl flooring in our kitchen, living and dining rooms. They had a plumber replace our heating baseboard, I would highly recommend H&M if you want excellent work done!!"

Arborists questions, answered by experts

Yes, it’s okay to trim low branches on a tree, also known as limbing up or raising the crown. Essentially, you’ll trim the lower third of the tree (trunk) and leave the upper two-thirds of the tree (crown). Arborists recommend trimming 20% of a tree’s leaves per season for two to three seasons. Trimming low branches allows light to flow through the tree, increasing circulation and making the tree stronger and healthier.

Pruning a tree is a yearly DIY job that involves removing small dead branches, leaves, and blooms to help the tree grow bigger and stronger. You can often complete the job with basic home gardening tools. Trimming a tree, however, removes larger sections to control the direction the tree grows in and protects your home, utility wires, and yard from potentially dangerous branches.

Trees don’t usually grow back after being cut down. Some particularly robust tree species may start sending up new stems from a stump to recover, but those stems won’t become a “tree” like before. Generally, trees don’t recover from being entirely cut down, which is why it’s important to be careful when making a decision. When you cut down a tree, it’s a good idea to make plans to remove the stump, even if it’s unlikely to grow back.

Poison oak is similar to poison ivy in that it's in the same family of plants. Poison oak is identifiable by its rounded-off leaves and hairy leaf texture. Tree-climbing varieties live primarily in western states while low-growing poison oak bushes occupy the eastern states. Treat poison oak like poison ivy to get rid of it permanently.

If it’s only a smaller branch that has died and you’re keeping an eye on the tree, it’s probably nothing to worry about. But if other nearby branches start dying off as well, or a very large branch dies, then you likely have a bigger problem. It’s time to watch for diseases and other problems and possibly get professional guidance on how to proceed.
