"They worked steadily and efficiently, making my yard look spotless. Plus they bagged and took away the leaves. The only concern I had was that the price was to include both back and front yard. But I did the front before they came. This did not change the price and those leaves were not bagged. Maybe that's how it works but I was caught off guard."

"I think they treated the wrong lawn. The note they sent me via text message referenced trees and shrubs in my yard, I have none. They also did not leave a yard marker showing they had been there. Otherwise, this would have been a 5 star review."

"Scheduling was great, an appointment was made immediately and the contractor arrived on the day scheduled. After that problems started. The contractor mowed my lawn while raining and I had piles of wet grass left on my lawn. When the grass dried I had a big mess. The dead grass also killed areas of my lawn. I contacted customer service, forward photos and they rectified that problem by sending someone out to recut my lawn. I was willing to give them another chance. I scheduled an appointment two weeks in advance. The day I was due to have lawn mowed I received an email that it had been reschedule for the next day. The next day no one showed nor did I receive a call nor email at which point I terminated services. This is not a reliable business."

"I couldn't be happier with the work that was done. My deck was completely rebuilt and updated quickly and perfectly. I was so happy with the results, I had my living room carpet replaced with laminate flooring, curtain rods were hung and electrical switches and outlets were updated and installed. Again the work was perfect. I highly recommend his work, in fact two neighbors were so impressed they also had jobs done!"

Lawns questions, answered by experts

Start your leaf removal routine in early October by checking the official Irondequoit zone pickup schedule. Assess your yard in mid-October for early-dropping maples, and rake before the first municipal collection pass. Inspect your property again in early and late November to catch late-dropping oak foliage. Year-round, check ravine edges and storm drains to clear blockages and prevent phosphorus pollution from entering the local bay and lake waters.

Helpful?

For a standard residential lot in Irondequoit, expect to spend one and a half to three hours per session on leaf removal. Heavily wooded properties or those near ravines require four to six hours per session. Because local maple and oak trees drop their foliage at different times, expect to invest six to fifteen total hours across multiple sessions to keep your lawn clear and ready for the town pickup schedule.

Helpful?

Missing the municipal collection window forces homeowners to handle leaf removal disposal themselves. Raking only once leaves late-dropping oak foliage on the grass, while ignoring early lake-effect snow forecasts traps heavy, matted debris under freezing moisture. Another serious mistake involves pushing debris into storm drains, which violates local NY stormwater ordinances. Finally, mixing sticks or trash into curbside piles causes town vacuum trucks to skip your property entirely.

Helpful?

Watch for the town pickup schedule to set your strict deadlines for curbside leaf removal. Mid-October signals the start of major maple and ash foliage drops across NY. Act immediately if local forecasts predict lake-effect snow, as wet snow mats foliage to the ground and damages your lawn. You should also start raking when leaves cover more than a quarter of your grass or begin accumulating near curb storm drains.

Helpful?

Homeowners with mature trees complete two to four leaf removal sessions each fall season. Plan for one pass in mid-October for early drops, a second pass in late October aligned with the town collection schedule, and a final pass in late November for oak trees. Properties bordering wooded ravines in Irondequoit require weekly clearing during peak drop periods to prevent heavy moisture from suffocating the grass and clogging nearby waterways.
