"Can't go wrong with this tree contractor. His guys showed up at 7:45 and were finished at 9:30am. 4 guys took down a 50ft. tree in 1.5 hours including all the clean up and blow the grass & driveway clean. I was very impressed thinking it would take most of the day. These guys knew what they were doing and had it down to a science. WOW I would definitely hire them again. There price was very reasonable and Ivan was easy to work with. Great Work Guys!!!"

The best time to cut down a tree is during its dormant season, typically in winter or early spring, after all the leaves have fallen. Frozen ground helps secure the tree stump, protects the surrounding landscape from damage, and reduces the risk of the tree falling in an unintended direction. With the leaves gone, there is less risk of the tree's foliage getting tangled with other trees. Additionally, since this is often a slower season for tree services, you may be able to hire a professional at a lower rate. This dormant period is also the best time for tree trimming.

Opt for a barefoot tree. Pros harvest barefoot trees when they’re dormant (leafless). They shake the dirt from the root ball and pack it in moist material. 

These trees can cost half as much as the trees at your local nursery, and you can buy them online—so there’s a much wider selection. Just make sure you keep your barefoot tree cool until you’re ready to plant it.

Deciduous shade trees (the type of trees whose leaves fall off in autumn) need to be pruned in late winter—between February and March. That’s because it’s easier to find and remove sick or dead branches when no leaves are present. And wounds close and heal faster in colder temperatures so pruning them at this time also makes them less prone to infection.
